Bambu Lab LED Lamp - MH001 Many players have it, perhaps you only see it as a toy, but I find that a bit of a waste. So I designed this model from a practical perspective, to turn it into a truly practical and useful night light, making it a good companion on your bedside table.

Model Description:
The complete model consists of two print profiles: "Dimming & Switching Base" and "Lampshade". Since the lampshade uses vase mode, I had to separate the lampshade model into its own print profile.
The "Foot Positioning Cover" print profile helps users easily attach feet. It provides positioning guides for 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm diameter feet, allowing you to choose and print based on your needs.

 

Key Features:
1. Turn the light on and off by pressing the lamp body, so you won't struggle to find a tiny switch in the dark.
2. Rotate the lampshade to adjust the night light's brightness, satisfying various preferences.
3. No supports or additional hardware are needed, all parts are 3D printable.
4. The lampshade uses vase mode, ensuring a clean and aesthetically pleasing main body with no Z seam.
5. A DIY lampshade base is provided, allowing you to change the lampshade to your preferred style while maintaining full functionality.

 

Designer's Recommendations:
1. For the lampshade, transparent, translucent, or white non-matte filament is recommended.
2. For the aperture, dark or matte filament is recommended.
3. Given the vertical snap-fit design, printing with materials that have good Z-axis toughness (e.g., PLA+, PETG) is advised.
4. To prevent the model from becoming loose, the snap-fit design is quite tight. Ensure proper alignment and apply slight force during installation.
5. For smooth dimming, lubricate frictional parts. Applying petroleum jelly to contact surfaces is recommended.
6. For single-handed dimming, it's recommended to attach non-slip feet to the bottom. You can use purchased silicone soft pads or print your own with TPU (cylindrical or inverted conical shape).
7. It is recommended to print using the designer's provided print profile and avoid modifications unless necessary.

8. Due to its power and color rendering index, this lamp is not suitable for reading.

 

Known Issues:
1. Using this kit shortens the night light's power cord, potentially requiring an extension cord. If you're handy, you could also modify the switch's position to resolve this (or simply opt not to use the switch base).
2. The 3W LED lamp can reach 70°C with prolonged use, which might cause slight softening or deformation of adjacent printed parts, though this typically doesn't affect normal operation.
3. To minimize high-temperature softening and deformation, adjacent parts use a solid infill, consuming more filament. Choosing a filament type or brand with higher temperature resistance can also mitigate this issue.
4. The lampshade consists of two interlocking vase mode parts that fit tightly (requiring high precision). If they don't assemble smoothly, you can use hole compensation to adjust the fit.

I started conceiving this model in late November 2024, but due to constant interruptions, the development, testing, and improvement cycle could only proceed intermittently. It was not largely completed until the end of June 2025. I consider it another significant creation of mine following the rotary spool holder series, and I hope you all like it :) Since its initial completion, I have been using this model myself and believe it has reached a highly functional stage.
