The Ryokan Planter brings the meditative, structured beauty of traditional Japanese design to your plant collection. Much like the Ryokan Lamp, this planter is defined by a series of rhythmic, horizontal ridges that create a balanced and calming presence in any environment.

Designed to be fully parametric, the Ryokan Planter allows you to customize the intensity of its texture to perfectly match the "vibe" of your greenery. Whether you prefer a subtle, smooth wave for a minimalist succulent or a deep, architectural carving for a bold bonsai, the Ryokan adapts to your vision.

Customization

The Ryokan is fully parametric. By adjusting the depth and intensity, you can transform the physical character of the pot while maintaining its signature silhouette.

Key Parameters:

• Base Height & Diameter: Adjust the overall footprint to fit your specific nursery pot or shelf space.
• Effect Depth (0% – 100%): Controls the vertical scale of the "valleys." Higher percentages create large, sweeping undulations; lower values result in a tighter, finer texture.
• Effect Intensity (0% – 100%): Controls the horizontal "peak." Boost this to 100% for sharp, eccentric ridges that create high-contrast shadows, or pull it back toward 0% for a softer, more fluid appearance.

Note: To ensure the planter remains compatible with the MODYLO stacking system, customize, do not resize the static files. This keeps the universal screw threads at the base perfectly calibrated.

Printing Instructions

To achieve a water-tight finish and clean, crisp ridges:

• Walls: Use the Arachne wall generator to ensure the transition between the peaks and valleys is smooth and structurally sound.
• Material Recommended: Matte PLA in white, terracotta, or stone-gray perfectly captures the architectural nature of the design.

Anatomy of the Assembly

The Ryokan Planter is designed using the Unified DNA system, ensuring perfect structural alignment when stacked. This assembly consists of:

• The Planter (Top): The functional soil bed featuring an integrated D-shaped watering conduit. This allows you to water the plant directly into the base reservoir, keeping the topsoil dry and clean. The Planter is simply screwed in the Base.
• The Ryokan Base (Base): A combined structural stand and hidden water reservoir.

Designed for Flexibility

Like all MODYLO components, the Vertex is built to be a permanent, yet fully adaptable, part of your home:

• Modular Customization: Because it shares the same internal threading as the rest of the collection, you can mix and match. Swap the Vertex base for other bases with the same diameter.
• Functional Care: This planter is fully compatible with the MODYLO Specialized Funnel. The funnel's D-shaped adapter fits perfectly into the watering conduit, with a secondary venting path to ensure water flows smoothly without air-lock.

Modular Upgrade: Water Level Indicator

The MODYLO ecosystem has been upgraded with a new, smarter Planter component. I have redesigned this internal part to feature an integrated water level sensing system. Because this collection is built on Unified DNA threading, this new planter is a direct "drop-in" replacement for your current setup.

You can print the Planter and the Water Level Indicator on their own using the dedicated "MODYLO Planter Upgrade" customisation. When doing so, please ensure that the height and diameter parameters align with the specific Base you are already using to guarantee a perfect internal fit and thread engagement. Simply screw the new assembly into your existing MODYLO Bases to bring real-time water monitoring to your entire collection without needing to re-print your decorative aesthetic shells.

The Adapted Funnel

This specialized funnel is designed to perfectly complement the modular planter. It features a specific geometry adapted to fit the D-shaped, integrated watering channel of the pot.

• Adapted Interface: It features a specific geometry adapted to fit the D-shaped, integrated watering channel.
• Integrated Venting: A small integrated channel at the interface of the Adapted Funnel ensures a separate venting path. This prevents trapped air from obstructing water flow, making the watering process efficient.
