MODYLO: The Vertex Planter
Crystalline complexity and modern organic forms.
The Vertex Planter introduces a high-density geometric shell to the botanical MODYLO collection, featuring a faceted, triangular tessellation. This intricate design transforms a standard pot into a multi-faceted object that catches and breaks up directional light, creating a dynamic surface that plays with shadows and reflections throughout the day. When paired with the soft, organic forms of succulents or ferns, the crystalline Vertex pattern creates a striking, contemporary balance between engineering and nature.

Anatomy of the Assembly
The Vertex Planter is designed using the Unified DNA system, ensuring perfect structural alignment when stacked. This assembly consists of:
- The Planter (Top): The functional soil bed featuring an integrated D-shaped watering conduit. This allows you to water the plant directly into the base reservoir, keeping the topsoil dry and clean.
- The Vertex Base (Base): A combined structural stand and hidden water reservoir.
Designed for Flexibility
Like all MODYLO components, the Vertex is built to be a permanent, yet fully adaptable, part of your home:
- Modular Customization: Because it shares the same internal threading as the rest of the collection, you can mix and match. Swap the Vertex base for other bases with the same diameter.
- Functional Care: This planter is fully compatible with the MODYLO Specialized Funnel. The funnel's D-shaped adapter fits perfectly into the watering conduit, with a secondary venting path to ensure water flows smoothly without air-lock.
How to Customize

The Vertex style is highly parametric, allowing you to tune the complexity of the geometric pattern. In the MakerLab Parametric Model Maker, you can adjust:
- diameter: The main footprint of the component. Keep this value consistent across all stacked elements.
- height: The overall vertical height of the planter or base module.
- hexa radius: Controls the scale of the individual hexagonal cells. A smaller radius creates a dense, complex pattern, while a larger radius makes the pattern bolder and more minimal.
- hexa pattern depth: Controls the depth of the pattern, go for a low value for a subtle pattern and a high value for a more agressive pattern.
Pro Tip: By adjusting the hexa radius and pattern depth, you can completely change the architectural feel of the planter.
Extra upon request
After user request (which makes total sense, too bad I didn't think about that before), I have added the possibility to also configure the difference between the bottom of the planter and the bottom of the pot

You can print the Planter and the Water Level Indicator on their own using the dedicated "MODYLO Planter extra" customisation. When doing so, please ensure that the height and diameter parameters align with the specific Base you are already using to guarantee a perfect internal fit and thread engagement.
You can now also configure the space under the planter.
Important note: if you allow more water under the planter, increase the number of walls (3) for the pot to prevent water leakage
Modular Upgrade: Water Level Indicator
The MODYLO ecosystem has been upgraded with a new, smarter Planter component. I have redesigned this internal part to feature an integrated water level sensing system. Because this collection is built on Unified DNA threading, this new planter is a direct "drop-in" replacement for your current setup.
You can print the Planter and the Water Level Indicator on their own using the dedicated "MODYLO Planter Upgrade" customisation. When doing so, please ensure that the height and diameter parameters align with the specific Base you are already using to guarantee a perfect internal fit and thread engagement. Simply screw the new assembly into your existing MODYLO Bases to bring real-time water monitoring to your entire collection without needing to re-print your decorative aesthetic shells.
The Adapted Funnel

This specialized funnel is designed to perfectly complement the modular planter. It features a specific geometry adapted to fit the D-shaped, integrated watering channel of the pot.
- Adapted Interface: It features a specific geometry adapted to fit the D-shaped, integrated watering channel.
- Integrated Venting: A small integrated channel at the interface of the Adapted Funnel ensures a separate venting path. This prevents trapped air from obstructing water flow, making the watering process efficient.
