The Basalt Planter brings the same bold, structural geometry of our lighting series to the botanical world. Inspired by the sharp, interlocking formations of columnar basalt, this planter features a deep hexagonal honeycomb texture that provides both visual depth and a rugged, industrial feel. Its substantial walls and rhythmic pattern create a perfect contrast with the organic, soft textures of succulents and indoor plants, turning a simple pot into a statement piece for your kitchen or workspace.

A Note on Customization Tooling

While MODYLO is built to be fully parametric, I’ve decided to temporarily hold off on enabling the MakerWorld Customizer tool for new uploads. I’ve noticed that the current system doesn't always recognize or support models printed this way, which unfortunately impacts how these designs are shared and discovered by others in the community.

I’m still fully committed to the "Customize, Don’t Resize" philosophy and I make sure every model is ready for adaptation. In the meantime, if you need a version with specific dimensions or a different pattern density, please just let me know in the comments. I’m more than happy to generate and upload a custom print profile for you.

Anatomy of the Assembly

The Basalt Planter is designed using the Unified DNA system, ensuring perfect structural alignment when stacked. This assembly consists of:

• The Planter (Top): The functional soil bed featuring an integrated D-shaped watering conduit. This allows you to water the plant directly into the base reservoir, keeping the topsoil dry and clean.
• The Basalt Base (Base): A combined structural stand and hidden water reservoir.

Designed for Flexibility

Like all MODYLO components, the Basalt is built to be a permanent, yet fully adaptable, part of your home:

• Modular Customization: Because it shares the same internal threading as the rest of the collection, you can mix and match. Swap the Basalt base for a Prism sleeve or a Smooth foundation for a unique, high-contrast look.
• Functional Care: This planter is fully compatible with the MODYLO Specialized Funnel. The funnel's D-shaped adapter fits perfectly into the watering conduit, with a secondary venting path to ensure water flows smoothly without air-lock.

Modular Upgrade: Water Level Indicator

The MODYLO ecosystem now features a smarter, redesigned Planter component with an integrated water level sensing system. Thanks to our Unified DNA threading, this is a direct drop-in replacement for your existing setup.

To upgrade, use the dedicated "MODYLO Planter with water level indicator" profile to print the new Planter and Water Level Indicator.

The Adapted Funnel

This specialized funnel is designed to perfectly complement the modular planter. It features a specific geometry adapted to fit the D-shaped, integrated watering channel of the pot.

• Adapted Interface: It features a specific geometry adapted to fit the D-shaped, integrated watering channel.
• Integrated Venting: A small integrated channel at the interface of the Adapted Funnel ensures a separate venting path. This prevents trapped air from obstructing water flow, making the watering process efficient.
