The Fluted Planter is a practical application of the MODYLO ecosystem, designed to bring greenery into a workspace or home. This assembly demonstrates how the system’s modularity allows for functional customization, transitioning from simple storage to a dedicated home for indoor plants.

Anatomy of the Assembly

This specific build utilizes the Unified Diameter System to stack three distinct functional layers into a single, cohesive unit:

  • The Planter Module: The top section features a specialized internal geometry designed for soil and a plant. It includes an integrated water conduit—a simple internal channel that allows for direct watering to the reservoir below without saturating the topsoil.
  • The Fluted Sleeve: The middle section serves as both the main aesthetic body and a functional reservoir. Excess water from the conduit is collected here, keeping it contained and away from your desk surface.
  • The Short Base: A low-profile, decorative foundation that grounds the stack and completes the visual silhouette.

The Fluted Planter highlights the core philosophy of the MODYLO system:

  • Modular Customization: Because every part shares the same internal DNA, you are not limited to this specific configuration. You can swap the fluted Stratum sleeve for a Prism or Smooth module to completely change the look while maintaining the planter functionality.

  • Scalable Growth: As your plant grows or your desk needs change, you can add more Intermediate modules to increase height or change the color-coding to refresh your space.

  • Rib_diameter: Control the thickness and "bulge" of the ribs.

  • Bottom/Top_rib_chamfer_angle: Apply specific angles to the top or bottom of the ribs.

Pro Tip: Playing with the relationship between chamfer angles, rib diameter, and the number of ribs can produce vastly different architectural styles—from soft, organic waves to sharp, aggressive industrial fluting.
