Hey everyone.   Here is my attempt to create the Reach Bear art toy.  This art toy was originally released by Kidrobot in 2008 and is based on a bear character by the Taiwanese Street Artist Reach.

I opted for simpler eyes than the original toy as I preferred the look (and I couldn't sculpt it to work properly lol).

It is about 6.5cm (2.6") high and 9.5cm (3.7") long  (NO AMS required to print).

There are two profiles:

  1. Three colours (the bolt in the eye is the same colour as the teeth)
  2. Four colours (the bolt in the eye is a different colour to the teeth)

Happy Printing! I look forward to seeing the different colour combos that you use.

Building Tips

  1. The orientation of the parts (i.e. eyes, nose and mouth) on the plate is how they should be placed on the main bear.
  2. The eyes, nose and teeth need to be glued to the main bear.
  3. IMPORTANT: The lightning bolt for the eyes is a tight fit, so it needs a bit of force to get in.  Make sure you align it as best you can before pushing it in.  I found that using a hard flat object like a ruler helps to push it in evenly so it is flush with the eye.
  4. The lightning bolt should be aligned the same in both eyes.  In my blue model I placed the eyes on the wrong sides because I dropped them and didn't realize that the bolt was misaligned as a result (😂).
