Residing at 39° North latitude, I find that even in this relatively arid climate, opened filament spools necessitate storage in a drying box.
After careful consideration, I opted for a 12L Lock & Lock crisper, capable of accommodating four 1kg filament spools simultaneously.
To monitor internal humidity, I employ a Xiaomi Mi 2 thermo-hygrometer. For convenient observation, I needed a mounting solution that securely affixes the hygrometer to the crisper's interior wall while allowing for effortless repositioning.
While alternative magnetic stands exist online, their bulk proved unsuitable. My design prioritizes a compact, elegant solution that seamlessly integrates within the filament tray (as depicted).
Thus, I conceived this model, measuring under 47mm in width and 60mm in length—perfectly fulfilling my requirements.
The magnet selection comprises two types:
Cuboid magnets: 10mm*5mm*3, four pieces
Cylindrical magnets: 5mm*3mm*3, eight pieces
Choose the appropriate model based on your available magnets. I personally recommend the cuboid magnet version. The crisper wall itself provides separation between magnets, negating the need for an integrated design (installation occurs during printing). For secure post-printing installation, adhesive application is advised for enhanced fixation.
Both PETG and PLA are suitable printing materials. Observe magnet polarity during installation.
Finally, this model's utility extends to any drying box with a sufficiently flat, non-protruding surface for magnetic adhesion.
