MODYLO: The Crest Lamp

The Crest Lamp stands as a testament to the structural beauty of the MODYLO ecosystem. Its lampshade features a bold, interlocking hexagonal motif that draws inspiration from modern architectural cladding. The design utilizes varying wall thicknesses within each cell to create a sophisticated light-play; when dark, the shade presents a sharp, sculptural texture, but when illuminated, it reveals a glowing honeycomb grid with deep, recessed "crests" that add incredible visual weight and dimension to your space.

A Note on Customization Tooling

While MODYLO is built to be fully parametric, I’ve decided to temporarily hold off on enabling the MakerWorld Customizer tool for new uploads. I’ve noticed that the current system doesn't always recognize or support models printed this way, which unfortunately impacts how these designs are shared and discovered by others in the community.

I’m still fully committed to the "Customize, Don’t Resize" philosophy and I make sure every model is ready for adaptation. In the meantime, if you need a version with specific dimensions or a different pattern density, please just let me know in the comments. I’m more than happy to generate and upload a custom print profile for you.

Anatomy of the Assembly

1. Smooth Base: A clean, stable foundation with a female connection.
2. Lamp Connector: The internal bridge that houses the Bambu Lab Light Puck.
3. Lampshade Arms: Structural supports that snap securely into the connector without glue.
4. Crest Lampshade: A deeply textured, hexagonal shade designed specifically for Vase Mode printing.

Printing Instructions

To capture the sharp geometric transitions of the Crest pattern, please follow these slicer settings:

• Lampshade: Isolate on its own print plate. Enable Vase Mode (Spiralize Outer Contour) and set bottom shell layers to 0.
• Base & Connector: Use the Arachne wall generator for optimal thread precision.
• Material Recommended: A matte white or "Bone" PLA works exceptionally well here, as it emphasizes the shadows in the hexagonal recesses while providing a warm, even glow when the light is active.
