Polymaker AMS Cardboard Spool Adapter 199mm

Wraps the edges of a Polymaker 1kg cardboard spool with 199mm diameter

Updates

• 15 April 2025 - Uploaded new v2 design. 
  • Added prongs on the interior of the ring to better deal with manufacturing variation in spool diameter. Should be able to handle over 0.5mm in variation.
  • Optional smooth or textured ring. Should be quieter than the ribbed design.
  • Slope of clip adjusted to reduce likelihood of issues if it shifts and bumps into the feeder assembly.

• Sturdy design - I found that many other designs were too thin and broke easily when removed.
• Avoids blocking filament holes in the cardboard spool

Instructions

• Measure your spool first to ensure the diameter matches the adapter (199mm)
• The ‘right' ring is wider and has the filament clip. It must be on the right side when the spool is in the AMS.

Notes

• Print Material: I recommend PETG or PHA as they are more flexible and less prone to breakage.
