DISCLAIMER: Print profiles NOT created by DesignCraft may contain outdated model versions or suboptimal slicer settings. Use at your own risk! I have no control to moderate or remove these third party print profiles.

The Polymaker v2 print profiles are the original print profiles updated with new models. They're redesigned based on user feedback and also use 30-40% less material. Please refer to the Disclaimer above and also please read the Considerations section below.

Description:

This adapter system wraps the edges of a POLYMAKER 1kg cardboard spool in order to:

  • provide smooth rotation within a Bambu Lab AMS
  • prevent carboard debris from depositing within a Bambu Lab AMS

Notes:

  • I've tested with several POLYMAKER PolyTerra spools and the diameters tend to vary slightly.
  • The Polymaker.A model fits most of my POLYMAKER spool rims. Polymaker.B has a slightly smaller inner diameter. I use both of these models on my spools.
  • It is possible to have Polymaker.A fit on one side of a spool and Polymaker.B fit on the other side.
  • The size of the holes on the spool is NOT an indicator of spool diameter from my experience.
  • Tested on PolyTerra spools but also may be compatible with PolyLite, PolyMax, and PolyWood.
  • Shown as printed with Bambu Lab PLA Basic at 0.2mm

Features:

  • Reusable
  • POLYMAKER nameplate for easy identification when reusing

Instructions:

  • Print Polymaker.A and test BOTH SIDES of the POLYMAKER spool to see if it fits snug. If the ring is too loose for either side then print Polymaker.B and test again.
  • See attached photos

Considerations:

  • Print Material: Please print with a basic PLA or PETG to minimize any shrinkage.
  • Too Tight? Too Loose? Cardboard expands with humidity and contracts when dried. A cardboard spool that has absorbed too much moisture may cause the adapters to fit very tight. Placing the spool in a filament dryer, such as the SUNLU S2, for a bit should resolve this. Note, you should not dry the spool with the adapters attached as they can warp in the heat. Keep in mind that after a long drying session the adapters may fit too loose. This should resolve itself shortly as the cardboard reabsorbs some moisture from the air.
  • AMS Lid Doesn't Close? All of the spool adapters I make are less than the official AMS spool clearance limit of 202mm, as specified on the official AMS product page, and as tested within my own AMS. However, some people have stated their spools are rubbing against the lid with the adapters attached. It's hard to say what's causing this since I cannot reproduce the issue myself, however, I've created an AMS Lid Riser which allows you to keep your AMS lid closed while providing additional clearance for larger filament spools. It's a quick and easy print which you can find on my profile or directly here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/33133

fixed it , had to slow down the speeds

You shouldn't need to slow down this print. Seems like the issue is with the filament itself and I would first recommend drying it. Wet filament has poor layer adhesion. I hope this helps!
