Description

This lamp is designed for effortless printing and assembly, with just two parts: a base and a shade. No supports needed—just print, assemble, and enjoy!

Background:

A lot of people asked me if it wasnt possible to simplify parts of my lamps. For example combine the base assembly into one part and if parts of the lamp shade could be combined as well. So i took the challenge and tried to design a lamp for a as simple as possible build process! But this also comes at a cost: The print time increases a bit and as the shade takes hours to print also the risk of a failure rises. I printed this lamp twice though with some small upgrades and it came out wonderful every time!

Printing Tips:

  • The base should have an outer rim to improve bed adhesion and prevent it from falling off during printing.
  • The shade requires minimal support only at the bottom slots, where it later connects to the base.
  • Adding an outer rim to the shade is also recommended for better adhesion.
  • Be sure to clean your print plate properly before printing those hour long prints to prevent failure!

Parts you need:

  • E14 (or E27, there is a extra STL file for that) socket and bulb, preferably with an inline switch

Assembly Instructions:

Insert an E14 socket  (or E27) into the base.

Screw in the E14 light bulb.

Guide the cable through the slot at the bottom of the base.

Attach the shade by aligning it with the four fitting slots.

Turn the shade counterclockwise until it snap-fits into place.

Your lamp is now ready to shine!

If you enjoyed the print and build i would love to see a picture of your version!
