X-Axis Drag Chain & AMS lite HUB SAVER / HELPER / SUPPORT

The AMS Hub on the A1 is unsupported and weak and the part under it, if breaks is hard to replace.

I wanted to design a strong platform to hold the hub and the cable chain base. The cable chain parts are optional to print f you don't need them.

It is designed so the hub can move up and down as it should without friction but is still being supported.

I also wanted the platform to be aestheticly pleasing and to match Bambu's design as much as possible.

I added clamps for the side to make it super strong even though it stays in place without it.

I designed a cap on top that takes load from the lite HUB but also acts as a dust cover but can be lifted to reach the hub.

The height of the chimney is as tall as tall as when you push down on the hub you can still reach the top and deattach a tube.

Printed with Bambu Lab - PLA Basic - Light Grey for a perfect color match. :)

The chain part is best with PETG but it works perfectly with PLA too. (I used both.)

Assembly STEPS:

Remove PTFe Tubes.
Add main platform on top of the extruder.
Add the extra key part to close in the cable.
Add clamps to the side to secure platform. Hook it in and from the top fold down.
Add Cap Lace the PTFE tubes into the holes of the cap than attach the tubes to the HUB. Then place the cap on the chimney.)
Add cable chain platform to the other side. 2 or 4 m3 screw needed which you can find in bambu kits. more detail on my z-axis dragchain page.
Add links facing alternating in a way so the chain can only bend inward.

Hey, do you also have the contactor without the cable chain? I just wanted to have protection for the AMS but that is together with the cable chain :(

hi! I can make it. you just want the back of the thing to be absent? Also for a quick fix you can just boolean cut down the part you dont need in the bambu slicer or if you already printed it just cut off with a plier?

As always, another well purposed design by Arz. The print came out perfect and all the pieces fit very well, and assembly was easy as well. As a noo-b to the 3D hobby, I learned quite a bit when I sent this model to the slicer, like selecting pieces and changing colors. However, this is not a print you want to do with multiple colors, on one plate! (alot of waste, but that was my fault)...Ive still got alot to learn!!! Arz is one that takes much pride in his models, and rightfully so!!!

Great print. Seems to be easy to assemble. it does run the front of the ams dry box slightly but a bit of tweaking forwards should solve that issue. Nothing to do with this print.

Hi sorry I dont have the enclosure so I dont know. Do you use my no tilt version for the ams top mount? if tot you should check my site for it. that might solve the issue. or if you already use it. please measure it and let me know so I can figure it out.

hi, yes, I use your non tilt version. I’ve included a couple of photos which might help. I found that twisting the AMS slightly seems to help a lot.
