Description

Embark on an interstellar adventure with Cosmic Connect, a fun 2-4 player marble game that combines strategy, skill, and a touch of cosmic luck! In this space-themed showdown, players launch their marbles down a sleek ramp, aiming to create stellar alignments on a 7x7 grid. With its eye-catching design featuring twinkling stars and a charming rocket detail, Cosmic Connect brings the vastness of space right to your tabletop or floor. The first to get 3 marbles in-a-row wins the game!

This has been designed for both X1/P1/A1 build plate sizes, as well as the A1 Mini, to ensure that everyone can get in on the fun. There are several game play variations to ensure the fun can keep going and keep all of your friends and family entertained.

Components and Assembly

See the assembly instruction video below! The marbles used in this game are 14mm plastic balls and can be purchases through the Bambu Lab Maker's Supply store below, or you can find them on our Amazon link ( https://amzn.to/3XawsDO ) as well. You will need 10 marbles for each team color, or a total of 40 marbles. Just print all of the pieces in the print profile as well multiple colors for the launchers, watch the short video below and you'll be ready to play in no time.

  • For X1/P1/A1 owners, I would recommend printing the ramp version in four distinct colors so that everyone gets their own launcher for the game. The ramp is optimized to print as one piece.
  • For A1 Mini owners, there is a profile that includes a marble “popper” that is a fun variation of the game that allows all of the game parts to be printed on the smaller build plate.
  • If you would like a stand and marble bowl for your build, maker @AF365 has kindly shared the following model

Classic Game Rules

  1. Setup: Place the game board on a flat surface, such as a tabletop or floor. Each player chooses a color launcher and takes the corresponding set of plastic marbles. Each player should have 10 marbles.
  2. Gameplay:
    • The youngest player will start the game, and each player take a turn going clockwise around the game board launching one marble.
    • Players take turns launching their marble down the ramp, aiming to land them within the 7x7 grid. The game board can be rotate by each player so they can strategize their launch angle.
    • Once a marble comes to rest in a cell, it cannot be moved.
    • If a marble lands in the play area, but does not come to rest in a cell, it must be removed from the play area and the next player will take their turn.
    • If a marble lands outside of the play area, the next player will take their turn.
    • If a player has no more marbles and does not have a 3-in-a-row, they must sit out until all other players are out of marbles.
  3. Winning: The first player to align 3 of their marbles in a row wins! This can be vertically, horizontally, or diagonal. The winner gets to pull the tray at the end of the game watching all of the marbles fall into a black hole.

Game Variations

  • Galactic Conquest: Play continues until the grid is full. The player with the most 3-marble alignments wins.
  • Nebula Navigation: Players must create a specific pattern (announced before the game) to win, such as an "L" shape or a 2x2 square.
  • Cosmic Chaos Mode: In this frenzied variation, all players launch their marbles simultaneously as fast as they can! There's no waiting for turns – it's a rapid-fire race to see who can create the most 3-in-a-row alignments before all marbles are deployed. This mode tests quick thinking, hand-eye coordination, and adds an element of exciting unpredictability to the game.
  • Stellar Target Practice: In this precision-based variation using its own print profile. Please note, the game boards were not designed to be swappable in this version, so you must plan on printing this one from the start or create a new game base for this version.
    • The 7x7 grid is overlaid with concentric ring targets, each with different point values. Players take turns launching their marbles, aiming for high-scoring areas. We recommend each player only using 4 marbles each for this version and the game ends when all marbles are launched. The player with the highest total score wins. This mode tests accuracy and strategic thinking, as players must balance going for high-risk, high-reward shots with safer plays.
      • Bull's-eye (center): 10 points
      • Inner ring: 4 points
      • Middle ring: 2 points
      • Outer ring: 1 point

Design Intent

If you're curious as to why the drawers slide instead of just flipping the game board over, we thought that just wouldn't be as fun. Everyone that's played so far loves being able to win and watch all of the marbles dropped down through the board, just like the classic 4-in-a-row games. We recommend playing on carpet, so you don't have to chase marbles around the house. 😊

Feedback

As with any new game design, I would love to hear your feedback on how we can update the actual printed design to continue making it fun and engaging. Post your build photos, give us a download, and if you want to see more cool projects, give a boost! 🚀
