Description
Seed planting tool
There are a few designs around for this, but they are either for a single hole, or have a set number and spacing.
This is for planting rows of seeds, and is adjustable - because not all plants want to be planted at the same spacing (see the table below for data on a few, or ask the gardener in your life!)
There are 12 slots, at 1" (2.5cm) spacing, and you can fit pins into as many of these as you want to get the spacing you need.
Alternative pins
In reality, unless you're doing something weird, you'd have multiple of pins of the same length!
In addition to the standard pins, a separate Print Profile provides a range of alternative pins:
- 1 inch (25 mm)
- 2 inch (50 mm)
- 3 inch (75 mm)
- 4 inch (100 mm)
- 4 inch (100 mm) with ribbed markings at each inch
The pins are marked with some recessed dots to indicate the length.
Push it down until the single rib shows for 1 inch, to two ribs for 2 inches, three ribs for 3 inches, and all the way for 4 inches.
Planting notes
Ideal for vegetable seeds:

Printing notes
This prints fine in PLA. But if you are going to leave it out in the baking sun, consider PETG etc.
It prints without support or AMS, but take extra care when printing the pins - I recommend printing them slowly (eg on ‘silent’ mode) as they are testing the limits of bed adhesion, especially on bed-slingers.
If your soil is particularly hard you may want to increase the infill percentage of both the rack and the pins. But if the soil's too solid your seeds might have a hard time too!
