I design functional models. This isn't a commercial venture, just a hobby. If you download and like something, please leave a comment, it means a lot to hear how you get on. If you can spare some boosts that helps towards the costs of prototyping new designs. There's a mix of models covering gardening & birdfeeders and microscopy, and a few other things. If you would like to sell prints of these designs please let me know.

Here's a stand for holding a Thermal Master P1 thermal camera pointing down at the desk from about 200mm / 8 inches high, for when you want to work on electronics (or, as here, to look at your hand). #Newmodel #thermal #camera

A quick update for anyone who has printed one of my Window Bird Feeders - I have now created a removable insert tray, that fits in them and makes it easy to refill the feeder and keep it clean. This works will all my bird feeder designs, apart from the Hexagon one.

Introducing my latest Window Bird Feeder. This is a hexagon version of my classic design (hexagons being the bestagons). You fix it to a window using suckers, or use double-sided tape - it's just what the birds need at this time of year (and makes a great gift for the bird-lovers in the family!). Easy print - single part, no supports, no AMS.

It's that time of year when seeds need planting. There are lots of things for making holes, but I couldn't find an adjustable one. So here it is...

I've been working on a range of different models for plants and the garden. Here's a modular plant support trellis. Each hexagon is a separate piece (and some have legs to stick in the ground), so you can build them together in whatever shape you like. Prints in PLA without support. Clips together without needing any non-printed parts. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1127261

Feet for plant pots. Place three of these under a pot to slightly raise it off the ground so it can drain properly and prevent the roots from rotting etc. A nice quick gift for the gardener in your life! https://makerworld.com/en/models/857317

Here's a cool project... build your very own MICROSCOPE! Here's the really cool bit: This design is the equivalent of a US$45,000 device, but you can build your own with this 3D print and around $200 of parts. Yes, you really did read that right. So it's not free, but hey, pretty neat. Will make a great Christmas gift project for the science nerd in your family. https://makerworld.com/en/models/751852

Crystal Clear Aquarium Water This Aquarium Filter tank has an input pipe accepting water that is typically the output from another filter (ie Fluval). https://makerworld.com/en/models/736534 Works with a Fluval U1 underwater filter as the input. Detach the output spout they supply, and push fit this print in its place. The box contains a number of internal baffles to maximise the filtration effect.

Manufacturers quote filament strength, but this only applies to their raw filament. What matters is how it behaves once printed. This tool and samples allow you to test printed samples, to understand how strong they really are. In particular changes printer settings such as layer height may make a significant difference. https://makerworld.com/en/models/734646
