Inspired by a design I saw I completely redesigned this whole planter from ground up. Made it a bit thicker, wider and taller. Added support in the water tub to hold the inner planter from wobbling and it doubles as a water regulator. Spin the top 45 degrees and the holes are partially blocked to slow down water absorption. I also modified the water bowl so water can be added without removing the planter and there is a float, complete with a banana, so you can see how much water is in there. I then made the eyeballs and mouth more detailed and realistic.

Printing:

The inner Planter, Goggles/Monocle and strap are printed at a .20 layer height with 15 percent gyroid infill.

The water bowl is printed at .20 “STRENGTH” layer. 6 walls and 6 bottom layers and 15 percent gyroid infill to make it water tight.

The Eyes and Mouth are printed at .08 layer height.

The float MUST be printed with 2 walls, 2 top and bottom layers and 15 percent lightning infill to make it light enough to float.

The eyeballs drop straight into the Goggles/Monocle and then the assembly is glued lining up the notches. Make sure to put all the seams to the back of the model.

Before the mouth is glued in place it must be heated with a heat iron or hair dryer just soft enough to lay it in place and let it wrap and cool to the arc of the planter. I set mine between double folded paper towels and heated it up with a model airplane fabric iron.

Mix and match all parts and colors!
