Self Watering 1 Piece Planter for Kitchen Herbs or other small plants.
I wanted a planter that did not have any texture on the outside and had a more elegant look, and I also needed a larger pot that could accommodate herbs purchased from the big box stores that come in the plastic drinking cups (3 for $10 at my local Lowes)
The top opening is just under 5", and total height is right at 4.25"
The bottom of the planter has 5 inlets for water to go into the inner chamber which should utilize a wicking material (cotton balls, canvas, etc) - I put small rocks in the bottom outside part as well for ascetics.
I used a marble filament and a silk tri-color for the ones in the picture - I had some cosmetics issues for the first 2 prints (single color of each marble / tri-color) - I dried both rolls in my dryer and got much cleaner results from the 3rd print (the 2 Tone) - So I do recommend making sure your filament is nice and dry!
The print profile is ALL walls. I wanted this to be as thin as possible, and also be solid. I'm pretty new to 3d printing, so i'm sure others will be able to optimize the model better than me!
Im uploading a single color and 2-Tone color, but i would recommend trying your own color schemes and layer painting them in different ways.
If you have anu suggestions or comments, please do let me know! And I would LOVE to see your printed planters if you print them!
