Description

REV.5

i've designed a new spool thaks to all the advide from downloader and a lot of testing

here it is

https://makerworld.com/en/models/53312#profileId-55088

enjoy

A simple design to dry out silica gel using a custom spool printed in sunlu ABS white so you can put it in oven or in the sunlu dryer without problems.

simply fill up the first spool, connect the second piece and BOOM you are done

The holes in the spool are 1,6 mm width so the silica cannot escape but allows hair to dry out all.

I project this to adapt SUNLU dryer or even the AMS if someone need extra dessicant.

  • As requested i've designed 2 version one normal and one large (the large one is doubled in free space)

the normal spool can contain up to 400 g of silica

i seuggest to print in ABS or ASA, other material could not work properly

enjoy

REV.4 21/10/2023

I've run into the issue where my silica beads are falling out of the openings of the lid. am I missing something here? I think there was only one lid in the files.

great design and printed very well. I do not recommend to print in PETG the heat will warp the thin door and it will poor out. ask me how I know lol. I’m going to print a few C clamps to fix mine so I don’t have to print it again.

It’s not easier to make a threaded connection so that it rolls up?

on the large spool version, the circle holes on the lid are too large and overlap with the open ‘tank’, allowing beads to fall out. found out the hard way.

Printed great and I will test it out later today! Is there any chance you will share the step file? I want to try and modify it to fit in my eibos dryer which I prefer over the sun. Thank you!
