Description

An upgraded model of my original silica dryer spool.

after a lot of testing and a lot of reviews and advice i've redisegned the spool to Dry out the silica gel that all of us use in the AMS or in the spool to dry out the filament.

this version reduce to 0 the mess done with the silica and has 0 leak.

the hole in the spool now are 0,8 mm so it can fit also the silica gel i'm using now that is 1mm of diameter.

There are 2 version: “normal” won't fit the AMS, "little" will fit the AMS (quantity of the silica that can hold is the same)

BOTH version works with the SUNLU FILAMENT DRYER S1, S2 and S4

simply put one half on the other trough the pin (adding some glue is better), add the silica with a funnel (you can use the model i designed)

https://makerworld.com/en/models/53330#profileId-55104

and put the screw cap on.

dry out our silica gel it's never been easier!

enjoy!

Nice Work, thank you. I take the little version. Filament used: Extrudr Neon Orange and Bambu White ASA for the holder. PLA Bambu Ice blue and Bavaria Bübchenblau for the funnel. Have some colors in your life.. ;-) Now the first drying-job started.....

At first I thought that the normal version would not fit into the SUNLU S2. However, it does fit with the opening facing downwards. ***star rating changed***

You're right. Thanks for the answer. I had tried all positions, but not the one with the opening facing downwards :-). I have adjusted the star rating ;-)

Printed in ABS. I had to scale down the lid to 99% in xy and printed it without support.

Great design! I printed mine with PETG because i haven't any ABS in stock. I'm confident that it will be able to withstand a good 24 hours at 70 degre without sagging. I printed pretty good but i struggled with the screwing cap. Normaly i dont run into issue with compensation but this time it simply doesn't fit anyway in. I simply did uniform scaled the cap at 98% and it screwed all the way in whitout any sanding. Also the place where the support was for the screw hole had to be sanded a bit because the interface left some dirt inside the thread. I did not tried drying desicant yet but i'm confidend that this will do the trick! Some might say that desicant will dry quicker inside an kitchen oven, but i prefer let this dry 24 hours inside my filament dryer than cooking the whole house for a couple hours. Next job is for printing the funnel so i dont loose my perls ;)
