Description

Please keep all these small parts away from children and pets, some parts have pointy ends, and they could be a choking hazard too.  Make or use these models at your own risk.

If you find these for sale on Amazon , Etsy or anywhere else, they are not being sold with my permission. There are no "authorized" sellers of these models. They were made for the 3D printing community, not for Amazon or Etsy sellers to profit from.

5/20/2025: This has been updated to V1.2 with a new helmet design that does not require glue to assemble.

Dummy13 may not have the right stuff to go to the moon, but that's OK, it's a robot (I think). With this astronaut remix, Dummy13 will be ready to be strapped to a rocket for a trip to the moon and beyond. For some reason I included a backpack and a helmet, but don't over think it (I didn't). Maybe the pack is for extra batteries or something? In any case Dummy13 will look just like a real astronaut, while performing those dangerous one way missions to places humans dare not go.

This is a single color printer friendly remix, of my multicolor Dummy 13 Astronaut suit. It's also of course, a remix of Lucky13 Toys' awesome Dummy 13 v1.0 model (note that this should be made with the v1.0 models and not the beta design).  All the parts are now available on a card, which includes all the armor parts (so just grab the frame parts from the Dummy 13 model to have everything needed).

This single color version includes a helmet with a separate visor (and optional stripe). Since it's split, the helmet can be printed in different colors and assembled.  With the v1.2 update, glue is not required to assemble the helmet, since the stripe and visor snap into place.  To install the visor, carefully remove any sprues and then it can slide into place.  It should be secured by a clip when fully installed, but if yours does not seem to seat, check the helmet and visor for any “zits” or “boogers” that could be blocking things from seating.  If it still does not seat properly, then a drop of superglue may be required to install the visor.  The stripe installs by first setting the hooked side of the stripe in the center of the helmet and then rocking the front part into place.  It can help to push the helmet with the stripe against a hard surface to get it to fully seat.

There is now an Astronaut Tools Kit available, with some tools, which you can find here.

Big thanks to Soozafone (aka Lucky 13 Toys) for sharing the awesome Dummy13 model, which this is remixed from! If this remix is not for you, the Dummy 13 model, and it's other remixes are definitely worth a look (and a like).

If you want to add a cool “Photon Cannon” for your Astronaut, check out ntdesign's DUMMY 13 Lamp (250% scale).

Mici has made a Moon Rover for Dummy 13, which I'm currently building to give my astronauts a cool ride across the lunar surface.  You can check it out at the link below:

Printing and other stuff:

The parts here are designed for regular single color printers. I've included BambuStudio 3mf files based on a Bambu X1C profile (though it should work with P1S and P1P also). There are no supports needed, since they are integrated into the frame design.  The slicer will warn about “floating regions” and suggest turning on supports, however I recommend printing without supports (they are not needed).  The frame parts will be required from the Dummy 13 v1.0 files which you can find here:

Thanks to a tip by MK4_Expert, I re-printed my frame parts in PETG after the PLA frame joints became loose, and the PETG seems to be much better at keeping it's position - so I'd recommend printing the frame parts in PETG if possible.

Some superglue will be needed to glue the visor to the helmet, and a dab may also help on the helmet stipe insert and backpack (if you want that to be permanent).
