Description

This is model of Dummy 13 V1.0 Release runners modified to fit A1 mini in 150% scale.

I like Dummy 13, i've printer it a lot. Most of them in size 150%. I believe it's best size for dummy to be played by child or adult.

Size of standing figure is 20cm, it takes 50gr.+50gr. of plastic.

But there is a problem. Original runner won't fit on A1 mini. So, it's not possible to print 150% size runner on A1 mini.

Separate parts often failed to print due to it's small size.

So, I've picked original runner files and modified parts placement and runner, to get more compact layout. Parts itself are not modified, only runners affected.

Model in 150% size. To get original size, scale to 75%.

Modifications:

  Female:

  • Created runners in same style as original (Frame and Armor).
  • Modified to fit A1 mini in 150% size.
  • Replaced male's parts with female.
  • Added sign “DUMMY F” for frames
  • Parts itself not changed.

  Male:

  • Modified frame runner to fit A1 mini in 150% size.
  • Armor runner left intact (for consistency)

Print tips:

For frame - use PETG or ASA filament.

Why no PLA?

PLA has three properties that make it a poor fit for the movable joints of Dummy 13's frame.

  1. PLA is stiff, so it can take a lot of force to snap the joints together.
  2. PLA is brittle, so the parts may break when subjected to that force.
  3. PLA will creep under stress, so the joints will become loose over time.

Armour could be printer with any filament.

This is a great upgrade. Makes building D13 so much easier. Card is laid out to coincide with the printed instructions (much better than trying to follow a youtube video). Printed perfectly every time.

I downloaded the "Female, Armor + Frame, 100% Scale Kit Card" but only printed the frame runners. Since cutting runners is tiring, I tried printing the original author's 1.0 armor, but they don’t fit together. It seems the frame in this profile is slightly oversized and not truly 100% scale. If it's labeled as "100% original," please ensure it matches the original size; otherwise, it won’t be compatible with other 100% Dummy 13 armors. I also noticed that the real original files have been uploaded by others, but they’re hidden since only four items are shown by default. FYI: The red model is the original, while the yellow one is from this profile.

I also checked the 150% version, and it is correctly scaled. When scaled down to 100%, it matches the original size. I strongly suggest removing the two '100% original' profiles, as they are incorrect and redundant. They might spread the wrong scale into the Dummy 13 world—hopefully, I’m the only one who printed it! 😆 By the way, the 150% version looks fantastic, and the minimise runner is wonderful!

I've checked and you are right. Have no idea how that happened (scaled to 112.5%). Reuploaded fixed model. Thanks for noticing.

Thanks, it's fixed. I'm new to MakerWorld. It's weird that re-uploading a profile doesn't change the release date on the page. BTW, even though I don't want the runner, I tried printing the frames without it and failed. PETG is hard to print.

First of all, thank you so much for this amazing model! I just printed my very first dummy 13 using this on my A1 and it came out absolutely beautiful. And for anyone curious, even though it's definitely better to print the joints in PETG or ASA, as stated above, if you're like me who's just starting out on 3D printing and don't have either...I printed my joints in PLA just to experiment, and I'd say they still move very well! It actually surprised me how smooth and articulated it still was despite the warning. Granted, would it be better to print the frame in PETG or AMS as op originally stated? Absolutely, no doubt about it, and I plan on printed out another frame in PETG later down the line, (since this was just an experiment to test out PLA with ball joints) but just know if you're just starting out or just don't have either recommended filament and really can't wait like me, using PLA for the joints isn't the worse thing in the world either :D

Cool little print! Making one of these could be an awesome play date idea.

good print, though this project highlighted my need for better (or at least much *drier*) PETG filament 😅

Wow. This looks like first layer didn't stick to plate and this caused what you see. Check that you have no adhesion problems with this filament.

how do I check it if I can’t use my printer it’s completely broken and it’s the people I bought it from fault

First, this is your own doing, please observe the first layer for any errors before leaving (of course, in this situation you can heat the nozzle to allow the accumulated filament to flow down, if the thermistor is damaged, you can replace the entire hot end "heat sink, heating ceramic, nozzle, thermistor, etc")
