What makes this self-watering? From the design, you are filling the cavity with water and the evaporation moistens the soil from the bottom to the top. If this is the case, your plant roots will constantly be wet and can lead to root rot. It would be beneficial to have a layer of rocks in the bottom of the inside planter to keep space between the evaporating water and the dirt. This will bring in a slower saturation to the dirt and help prevent the roots from rotting.

Thanks for the comment, here is the idea behind this self watering planter: The basic principle involves using a reservoir or water chamber within the planter itself. The planter has a built-in reservoir or water chamber at its base. This reservoir is separate from the soil and holds water. The soil absorbs water as needed, maintaining a consistent level of moisture around the plant roots. You can easly track the condition of the soil and when it starts to dry you can just refill the reservoir!

Love this design! Just checked out your Patreon and am not seeing a way so far, but any way to buy the design for commercial use to be able to sell them? I'm a big fan of this plant pot and would like to be able to offer it to others.

I had some cooling issues on the corners of the base. I printed it directly from the handy app.
