HOW TO: Transfer Cardboard Spool To Bambu Spool
HOW TO: Transfer Cardboard Spool To Bambu Spool
This is a tutorial on how to transfer a filament spool from a cardboard spool to a Bambu Labs Reusable Spool.  Step 1:Get spool Step 2:On Bambu spools it has a index notch for their filament I clip it off with a pair of snips (you can also use that index notch if you cut a notch in in the cardboard core of your filament.).Step 3:Peal off one side of your cardboard spool and the inner circle coreStep 4:Put the parted half of the spool holder on (should slip right on).Step 5:Flip it over and move over the filament end to the new spool side for safe storage while you peal off the other half of the cardboard spool.Step 6:Sometimes depending on the filament brand the inner cardboard cord can be loose on the center so just shim it with something like a piece of filament/cardboard so it doesn't slide around the middle of the spool.Step 7:Grab the other end of the reusable spool and lock it closes and now you should have a plastic spool ready to go!

I recently uploaded my own design of what I think is the ultimate modular spool to have in your arsenal. This is especially true for the AMS. You can use pretty much any spool using friction to keep it together and not have retraction issues. Just need to print up two sides, an insert for whichever manufacturer spool you need, and either use the recommended desiccant holder or bolts and inserts to get that friction fit. It's also meant to be able to change those not often used colors by swapping them out using zip ties. Has a spot for RFID tags (incase you want to reuse them) and locations for adding filament holders (recommend only on right hand side of AMS). Let me know what you think . https://makerworld.com/en/models/1056044 #Spool #Bambu Spool #AMS #RFID

Just released my AMS refill spool design, I've been using this for a little while now - would love to get some feedback from other users. The original printable Bambu spools tend to wear over time and can also be difficult to snap together / apart depending on the printer tolerances. I was trying to solve that issue here with a nice big thread for speed and convenience and you can still lock the two parts together with a single common M3 screw if you have any doubts about the thread holding. Thanks! #AMS #Spool You can find the design here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/928537#profileId-892121
