Model Description

Mini retractable sword 3 - Long Rainbow Sword: The prototype is the Long Rainbow Sword, Hongmao's weapon from the classic Chinese animation series *Rainbow Cat and Blue Rabbit*. The overall proportions have been redesigned for 3D printing, with details enhanced by traditional auspicious cloud patterns.

This is the third in my mini retractable sword series, modeled in Fusion 360. It's designed for print-in-place, requiring no assembly. Printing takes approximately 2 hours, and it's compatible with the A1 mini. The size is perfect for both adults and children. I plan to continue developing this series.

Parameter Notes: Hand-drawn supports (please don't modify them 😂), no brim, other settings are standard.

Remarks:

1. It's recommended to avoid printing multiple swords simultaneously; this increases the likelihood of print failures.

2. A cold-weather friendly reminder to prevent spaghetti: clean the build plate, heat bed +5℃, glue stick/adhesive;

3. If the first few layers adhere and prevent completion, use a craft knife to carefully separate them.

4. If a section of the retractable sword feels stiff, it might be due to slight extrusion issues or layer shifting. Repeated extension and retraction should resolve this.

Design Anecdotes (Optional):

• My design constraint for the mini retractable swords was a print time of around 2 hours—the joy of finishing a print in a short time after work. Hence, the models aren't overly long or large, more like “small knives.” This makes them suitable for both children and adults, ideal for everyday play, and minimizes the disappointment of print imperfections, failures, or damage from use.
• All seven swords were entirely redesigned from scratch, not AI-generated, nor traced from images. While the overall shapes reference the originals, they aren't one-to-one recreations. Adapting them into small, retractable swords involved significant adjustments to achieve harmony. Some sharp edges on the originals, posing printing challenges and safety concerns for children, have been streamlined.
• Following the originals exactly felt monotonous, so I incorporated personal touches. The print size limited the detail I could effectively include, so I constantly balanced adding and subtracting.
• Researching the original animation revealed variations in sword appearances and color schemes, which proved somewhat challenging.
• I surprisingly discovered a “Rainbow Seven” anime series on Bilibili, in 4K quality.
• I also found that Bilibili and Xiaohongshu both host active official “Rainbow Seven” accounts, with recent updates.

• I casually gifted some test prints to a colleague’s young daughter during a company dinner; her endless playtime with them underscored a profound sense of fulfillment that surpasses any online accolades.
