Description

Compact Dice Tower

I designed this compact dice tower (smaller than a funko pop) to accommodate folks who want to take their dice tower with them on the go, but don't want to carry around a DUFFEL bag for their gear.

This has been designed with simplicity in mind, and serves its purpose very well. Even metal dice doesn't cause it to move around.

When closed, the dice tower can hold a standard set of polyhedral dice inside (and then some) without them falling out!

If you enjoy this, please share photos of your prints below!

I want to like this neat little dice tower but I've printed the tower itself twice and have two complaints. 1) It should fit a little more snugly inside the tray. It's easy enough to fix that though. 2) The. side facing of the tower top wall (printed lying on it's side) is very fibrous/loose no matter what kind of support one uses. Maybe I should have printed it vertically?

Thanks for the rating and the comment. I actually print them just as they are in the print profile, with no supports at all. I understand that the bridge is a little far and definitely leaves a less than desirable result on the inside. However - this is a functional print, and I chose ease of printing over visual quality. This was one of my very first designs, and I do plan to go back and remake it eventually with some of the suggestions in this thread, so I’ll try to improve the next model with your suggestions.

Yep! I get it. It is indeed totally functional. And yeah, I tried it without supports and it wasn't much worse. So that makes sense to print it that way.

Check out the new profile by @bowlofrice - I have it printing now, but from his description it may have addressed the issues you had.

Great print! I highly suggest printing the tower itself standing up with just one small support for the bottom opening (just use the automatic supports). It gives a much nicer finish. I also made the lid a bit tighter so the tower doesn't fall out. Now it can be used as a little container :)

Let me know how it went! For the one I printed, the lid was a bit too tight, so I actually tweaked it a tiny bit before uploading

Small, practical and fits a set of dice. Perfect for playing somewhere with a small table space (we've all been there). Thank you!

Awesome print! would love to see a remix that adds some magnets for when it's stored for travel! Still a 5☆ print without em!

Support Issue:Ugly bridging on tower section, no supports. Ended up printing it again but re-orienting the tower vertically and adding auto tree supports for the opening at the bottom. This also hid the bed texture area on the bottom of the print. came out much cleaner.

I tried, it won't let me, some kind of error about printer and or specific filament settings, never had a problem before, can't find the issue as of yet.
