Version 2 Update (2025-10-06)
- Completely redesigned “clip” portion from scratch, using calipers and dewalt batteries themselves for better fit.
- Eliminate the dependence on the “remix” clip using my own design above, making a stronger, better-fitting clip portion.
- Not only does this provide a better fitting and stronger clip, the model is now fully original design.
Description
I designed the DeWALT Compatible Battery Caddy to tote, organize, and protect your expensive DeWALT 20V / 20VMax series batteries. It holds 6 batteries up to the 9AH size which is somewhat large, including the newer DeWALT “Power Stack” batteries which are wider and longer than their normal batteries, even more-so than the large 9AH 20VMax. Enough spacing is provided to install six of the largest batteries side-by-side.
The holder is “latching” meaning the battery latch engages, keeping them from sliding out.
Great for toting your batteries for work, caddying them to a remote location, or for general organization and protection.
The bottom of the caddy extends below the tallest battery, so that the battery does not touch the ground or whatever surface you set them on.
I find this caddy very handy when taking my batteries and tools to the mountains to work on the cabin, construction site, etc. And also for storing charged batteries in the garage, always ready to go when I need to quickly grab enough batteries for about any job.
Printing Notes
Please use the included “Designer” profile - it is all set up to print in strong PETG filament. It prints rather slowly because batteries are heavy, and I wanted to make sure to achieve the best layer adhesion I could get in a reasonable amount of time. Also, I use a lot of walls for strength, so it will hold up. Finally, do not omit the supports. The supports are super easy to remove using the profile as delivered. I used PETG for printing, and they come off very easy and the supported surfaces look very good - see photos.
I intentionally sized the model and filament usage so that one caddy uses about 490 grams of filament. This ensures that you will be able to print two Battery Caddies with one spool, and not have to swap spools on the second Caddy should you choose to print several.
Summary
I hope you find the DeWALT Compatible Battery Caddy useful. If you have any issues or suggestions, please let me know. Enjoy!
