DeWALT Compatible Battery Caddy - 6 20V Max Batteries

** Third-party Product Disclaimer **

Version 2 Update (2025-10-06)

  • Completely redesigned “clip” portion from scratch, using calipers and dewalt batteries themselves for better fit.
  • Eliminate the dependence on the “remix” clip using my own design above, making a stronger, better-fitting clip portion.
  • Not only does this provide a better fitting and stronger clip, the model is now fully original design.

Description

I designed the DeWALT Compatible Battery Caddy to tote, organize, and protect your expensive DeWALT 20V / 20VMax series batteries. It holds 6 batteries up to the 9AH size which is somewhat large, including the newer DeWALT “Power Stack” batteries which are wider and longer than their normal batteries, even more-so than the large 9AH 20VMax. Enough spacing is provided to install six of the largest batteries side-by-side.

The holder is “latching” meaning the battery latch engages, keeping them from sliding out.

Great for toting your batteries for work, caddying them to a remote location, or for general organization and protection.

The bottom of the caddy extends below the tallest battery, so that the battery does not touch the ground or whatever surface you set them on.

I find this caddy very handy when taking my batteries and tools to the mountains to work on the cabin, construction site, etc. And also for storing charged batteries in the garage, always ready to go when I need to quickly grab enough batteries for about any job.

Printing Notes

Please use the included “Designer” profile - it is all set up to print in strong PETG filament. It prints rather slowly because batteries are heavy, and I wanted to make sure to achieve the best layer adhesion I could get in a reasonable amount of time. Also, I use a lot of walls for strength, so it will hold up. Finally, do not omit the supports. The supports are super easy to remove using the profile as delivered. I used PETG for printing, and they come off very easy and the supported surfaces look very good - see photos.

I intentionally sized the model and filament usage so that one caddy uses about 490 grams of filament. This ensures that you will be able to print two Battery Caddies with one spool, and not have to swap spools on the second Caddy should you choose to print several.

Summary

I hope you find the DeWALT Compatible Battery Caddy useful. If you have any issues or suggestions, please let me know. Enjoy!

Printed nicely, supports were easy to remove, holds 6 large batteries securely, feels solid, just a little cleanup on the support areas. Printed in ABS Bambu Yellow and Flashforge ABS PRO Black on a P1S with AMS COMBO 0.4 Hardened Nozzle .2LH, 4 walls, 5 top and bottom layers, 15% Gyroid Infill, Arachne Walls, Tree Hybrid supports. As you can see in the photos I reversed the color order for this print with black as the main body. I'll have to print the 4 battery version as well! Added four more photos taken fresh off the printer that day...

fantastic print. think I will insert supports under the handle next time as had a AI fault for spaghetti (seen as per picture but can be smoothed out) but all in all printed clean an smooth and the batteries fit snuggly. I’ve only got up to 18v batteries so couldn’t test the larger type

Just a note - my designer profile includes supports already enabled. I'm actually impressed it bridged that handle without supports. Supports are a bit of a must on this model because of the handle. I'm glad you like it! And that it printed usable even without the supports in the included profile. But for best results, please use the included profile with those essentials already enabled.

This thing is great! no more loose batteries rolling around in the drawer. I increased infill to 25% and it came out like a tank. Also good to note, I haven’t found a dewalt battery that doesn’t fit.

good print, bit of stringing but most likely my fault as rushed the drying of my filament
