Description
My father requested a B-17 throttle assembly for his flight sims. I took a trip to the air museum and took some photos. They wouldn't let me in the cockpit to measure, but I completed my second revision of the model before my father moved. I've not continued work on this since, and he's not expressed interest again. I hope someone finds this model useful and works it out. I had a lot of fun on this. Any other questions, let me know.
Notes regarding where I left off:
- Because I couldn't measure, some liberties were taken but everything is made relative to each other, to mimic the real throttle.
- These are simply too long to print in one piece without some serious strength. They work, and can be printed in one piece. But, I was going to either shrink them or split them into parts to be assembled after printing.
- Shrinking would be better, but then the “realism” is no longer accurate to the real deal. Not sure which way I would have gone here, keep the accuracy or make it more user-friendly for the sim.
- I hollowed out some parts to save plastic, but this makes them difficult to print. Not sure if I would have filled them back in or not.
- The fitment for the bravo is right. But the retention clips seem to break depending on printing orientation (layer line direction). I was debating removing the clips all together.
