In Case of Fire: Programmer Edition

“Commit or it didn't happen!”

Every developer knows this:

The building is engulfed in flames, but the local code isn't on the server yet!
This sign reminds you (and your colleagues) of the truly important priorities in an emergency. First push, then run! Never disappoint the BOSS!

It's my very first design here on MakerWorld and a fun project for in between, to bring a bit of IT humor into the office or home office.

Design Details

The sign is based on the classic emergency style and shows the workflow that every programmer should master in their sleep, as seen in the file in cas of Fire programmer sing.png:

  • git add . (Secure everything)
  • git commit -m"fire" (Short and sweet)
  • git push (Safety first!)
  • Leave the building (Get out quickly now...)

Printing Recommendations

  • Colors:

It looks best in the classic "Safety" look – red background for the header, white text at the top and black text on a white background for the list.

  • Material: PLA is perfectly sufficient, unless you want to hang it right next to the server room fan, then PETG would be worth considering.
  • Pause for color changes: If you don't have an AMS/MMU, you can simply plan manual filament changes at the corresponding layers.

Have fun printing, and hopefully you'll never have to perform steps 1 to 3 under real time pressure! I would be thrilled with a like or a photo of your finished print
