Description

Protective Case for 3 Improved Stedi/Nasedal Glass Files

A compact protective case designed specifically for a set of 3 improved Stedi glass modeling files (also fits brown Nasedal glass files).

Glass files are excellent tools for Gunpla, scale models, miniatures, 3D prints, and other precision hobby work, but they are not the kind of tools I want loose in a drawer or toolbox. They have delicate working surfaces and sharp pointed ends, so I wanted a dedicated case that keeps them organized, separated, and better protected during storage or transport.

This case has three separate internal slots, so each file has its own place. The design also includes built-in internal stoppers that prevent the sharp pointed tips do not rest directly against the end wall of the case, helping protect both the files and the printed part from unnecessary wear.

The outside of the case includes simple recessed file-shaped details and side grip lines, giving it a clean tool-case look while also making it easier to handle.

Features

  • Dedicated case for a set of 3 improved Stedi/Nasedal glass files
  • Three separate compartments for organized storage
  • Built-in stoppers to protect the sharp pointed tips that prevent the files from resting directly against the end of the case
  • Helps protect delicate glass file surfaces during storage and transport
  • Compact rectangular shape, easy to store in a drawer or hobby toolbox
  • Side grip texture for easier handling
  • Decorative recessed file silhouettes on the outside for easy organization

Why I Made It

I use glass files for model making and finishing printed parts, but storing them safely was always a bit annoying. Leaving them loose on the desk or in a tool drawer can damage the file, scratch other tools, or put pressure on the sharp tip.

I designed this case to keep the full set together in one place while giving each file its own protected slot. The internal stop system was added specifically so the pointed edge does not hit or rest against the case.

Print Recommendations

  • Material: PLA, PLA+, PETG, or similar
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Walls: 2
  • Infill: 10–20%
  • Supports: Not required in normal orientation
  • Brim: Optional, depending on bed adhesion
  • Print orientation: Upright or as provided, depending on your slicer and printer setup

For best results, make sure your printer is well calibrated, especially if you want the files to slide in smoothly without the fit becoming too loose.
