The MAXi Train series travels to the crossroads of continents with Istanbul Horizon, a miniature tribute to Istanbul’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, and unique blend of East and West. At the heart of the scene stands the iconic Hagia Sophia, its grand central dome and layered structure capturing centuries of history and architectural brilliance. With its warm tones and powerful silhouette, it anchors the diorama in a timeless balance between past and present. Nearby, the elegant Sultanahmet Mosque rises with its multiple minarets and harmonious domes, offering a refined and symmetrical contrast. Its presence reflects the spiritual depth and artistic mastery of Ottoman architecture, bringing a sense of calm and unity to the composition. Completing the skyline, the Galata Tower stands tall at the center, its cylindrical form and conical roof adding a strong vertical landmark that ties the entire scene together. At ground level, a lively central square connects the monuments, creating a natural focal point where the city’s energy unfolds. A traditional Turkish train, inspired by classic locomotives, circulates smoothly through the landscape, guiding the viewer’s eye from one landmark to another. Its motion adds rhythm and continuity, transforming the diorama into a dynamic journey through Istanbul’s identity. Crossing the vivid blue waters of the Bosphorus, a small ferry boat glides peacefully, symbolizing the constant movement between continents that defines the city. Above, colorful hot air balloons float gently in the sky, adding a poetic and dreamlike atmosphere, while a Turkish flag proudly marks the scene with a strong sense of place and identity. As with every MAXi Train creation, Istanbul Horizon blends architecture, storytelling, and motion into a compact collectible. Designed with clean lines and simplified forms for miniature 3D printing, it captures the essence of Istanbul—where history, culture, and daily life meet at the edge of two worlds, connected by movement, contrast, and enduring beauty.

This new design is based on the Mini Train Collection of BamBam Design (https://linktr.ee/bambamdesign). This model is 2.5X bigger than usual BamBam Design Mini Train Collection. You are free to adapt the scale if you want to make it compatible with other designs. In this case, be aware that some piece might be very small and also make sure to also apply the same ratio for magnets. Apply a 40% or 0.4 ratio to be compatible with BamBam Design Mini Train Collection.

Assembly:

Needed :

• 6x Round Magnet 10x5mm

Steps:

1. Insert 3pcs magnets (10x5mm) in the trains (Turkish Train).
2. Insert 3pcs magnets (10x5mm) in the wheel’s pin. These magnets must attract the trains (Turkish Train).
3. Add the wheel’s pin onto the wheel, fix the wheel to the base by pressing gently. Wheel’s pin must follow the designated path. You can use the trains or some spare magnets to prevent the wheel’s pin movements of the path while doing so.
4. Fix the terrain to the base by using trees dedicated. You can add a bit of glue to combine.
5. Fix others elements such as monuments and buildings. You can add a bit of glue to combine.
6. Cut a piece of filament ~50-100mm and insert/glue one side into the hot air balloons and insert/glue the other side into the terrain plate.
7. Turn the wheel and have fun!
