Description

DnD Travel Dice Tray with Folding Magnetic Dice Tower

This is a premium, all-in-one tabletop companion designed for players who want a full rolling experience in a portable package.

Measuring 232mm (L) x 85mm (W) x 48mm (H), it strikes the perfect balance between a dedicated dice vault and a functional rolling station.

The standout feature is the Magnetic Folding Dice Tower. It’s a two-piece design that snaps together instantly using magnets for gameplay, then packs completely flat into the lid when you're done. When stored, the tower pieces actually help brace your dice in their slots, keeping them securely in place during travel.

✨ Features

  • Folding Dice Tower: A unique, magnetic snap-together tower that stores inside the lid.
  • 7-Piece Vault: Deep-seated storage for a standard polyhedral set (fits dice up to 20mm).
  • Multi-Use Utility Slot: A long channel for pencils or extra dice that doubles as a phone or tablet stand.
  • Hidden Closure: Magnets for the lid/tray closure are encased inside the print for a clean look with no visible glue.
  • Dimensions: 232mm x 85mm x 48mm.

🛡️ Looking for a larger tray? If you need a higher capacity for multiple sets or a wider rolling area, check out my Large Travelling Dice Tray here.

📦 Available Print Profiles

  • Wood Effect Vault: Uses a ‘wood log’ modifier model that creates a natural "grain" look.
  • Standard Vault: A faster, cleaner profile for those using standard PLA, PETG, or Silk.
  • Inlay Stencils: A quick print to help you perfectly trace and cut leather or felt for the tray and dice slots.
  • Magnet Tolerance Test: Print this first! A short test to ensure your magnets fit the tight tolerances required.

🧲 CRITICAL: Magnet Insertion & Print Pause

STOP! If you ignore the pause at Layer 292, the print will fail or you will have no way to seal the magnets inside.

The lid and tray are two separate prints, and both pause at Layer 292. This allows time for you to add the required magnets into the model and then the printer to seals the magnets inside the body, leaving a completely smooth exterior.

⚠️ A Note on the Fit: The 5x5mm magnet slots are intentionally extremely tight. If they aren't a friction fit, the magnetic pull from the moving print head will suck them out mid-print. You will need significant force to get them flush.

If your printer bed moves on the Z-axis (like a Bambu P/X series), support the underside of the bed with your hand while pressing the magnets in to protect your lead screws and bed levelling.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Calibration: Print the Magnet Tolerance Test first. If your magnets don't fit here, they won't fit the main model.
  2. The Prints: Launch the Lid and Tray prints. If you have an AMS, the lid inlay is set for a second colour.
  3. The Pause: For the dice tray and lid, both prints will automatically stop at Layer 292.
  4. Insert Magnets: Press the magnets into the slots. Double-check your polarity so the lid and tray actually attract each other!
  5. Resume: Once they are flush, resume the print to seal them inside.
  6. The Tower: Print the two tower halves (no pause required). Simply press the 5x2mm magnets into the slots once the print is finished.
  7. Finishing: Optionally, print out the Stencil Profiles to trace and cut leather or felt inlays for the tray and dice slots to give the set a premium finish (inlays are offset to be smaller by 0.5mm)
