Printing Instructions
This is a small, precision print-in-place mechanism, so proper extrusion is important.
- PLA recommended. Other materials may work, but performance can vary.
- No supports required.
- Default settings work fine.
Fit Adjustment (Optional)
If needed, the model can be scaled slightly (around +5% to +10%) to better fit larger toothbrush heads.
The mechanism remains functional even when scaled within this range.
Flow Adjustment (Important)
Because this is a compact precision mechanism, small variations in extrusion can affect performance.
- If the hinge or latch feels too tight → reduce Flow Ratio slightly
- If the hinge or latch feels too loose → increase Flow Ratio slightly
Adjust in small steps (±0.05) and reprint if needed.
Each filament may require a slightly different flow value, and even the same spool can vary over time.

This model can also be used as a quick real-world flow calibration test.
⚠️ Note
On the first use, the latch may feel slightly stiff to open.
To release it more easily, press the side opposite to the latch slightly backward, then lift the lid.
Open and close it a few times — the mechanism will loosen and become smooth with use.
