Skew Chisel Grinding Jig — Compatible with the Wolverine Sharpening System

I’ve been using the Wolverine sharpening system for a while and never really needed to grind my skew chisels… until this week when I dropped one and took a chunk out of the edge.

To get back up and running quickly, I designed this simple jig to help re‑establish the skew angle and restore a clean, repeatable hollow grind. There are plenty of similar ideas out there, but this version is fast to print and works seamlessly with the Wolverine setup.

🔧 Compatibility

This jig is fully compatible with the Wolverine Sharpening System, attaching directly to the adjustable tool rest.

How It Works

  • The jig clamps to the Wolverine adjustable rest using a ¼‑20 bolt threaded into a recessed ¼‑20 nut.
  • Tightening the bolt applies pressure to the rest, locking the jig securely in place.
  • The outer pockets position your skew chisel at the correct orientation.
  • This setup gives you a consistent, repeatable hollow grind without freehand guesswork.

Printed is PLA with tree supports

Requires one ¼‑20 bolt and one ¼‑20 nut
