Description

This is a chisel sharpening jig. It accommodates chisels as small as 0.25 inch and as wide as 2.25 inch. There are 2 holding positions which I'll call the lower vise and the upper vise. Place the chisel into the vise so that its flat side is facing upward. The flat side of the chisel must be referenced against the upper lip of the vise.

After printing, you will need to cut through the bridging layer of the holes. You also may need to drill through the external holes with a ¼" bit. Mine were a little tight, and you want the mobile jaw to move smoothly.

Sharpening distances from the front face to the chisel tip:

  • lower vise 25deg: 41mm
  • lower vise 30deg: 30mm
  • upper vise 25deg: 62mm
  • upper vise 30deg: 47mm

Required hardware:

  • M8 x 20mm hex head bolt (2)
  • M8 Nylock nut (2)
  • 608 bearing (2)
  • ¼-20 x 3in hex head bolt (2)
  • ¼-20 nut (2)
