Concept
PlantaForma HEX-SYSTEM is an assembleable hexagonal shelf that leverages the precision of 3D printers It was designed to be formed solely by 'snap-fit' connections where parts click together without the need for screws or adhesives No supports are required for printing
Compatibility
The plate size is 120 x 120 x 10 mm It is designed to be printable even on small printers such as the A1 mini
Part Components
- Base Plate: This is the basic flat plate measuring 120x120x10mm
- Hex-Mesh Plate: This is a 120x120x10mm plate with a geometric mesh structure
End Joint: This is a 2-way joint for connecting the ends of plates

- SQUARE Joint: This is a 4-way joint for connecting plates
- SQUARE End L Joint: This is an L-shaped 2-way joint for connecting plate ends
- SQUARE End T Joint: This is a T-shaped 3-way joint for connecting plate ends

Printing and Assembly Guide
Required number of basic units for building a customized shelf (for one hexagon)
- Universal Joint: 12 pieces (Print Profile 1 once)
- Your preferred plates: 6 pieces (Print a total of 6 times from Profiles 2-4)
Tips: Optimal print settings (infill and wall count) are pre-set for each part so profiles are separated It is recommended to print Profile 1 (Joints) and Profile 2 (Base Plate) first
Important Pre-Print Testing Request
The stiffness of the snap-fit may vary depending on your filament and printer settings Before printing in large quantities be sure to test print one joint and one plate to confirm they assemble correctly and smoothly

We aimed to achieve both a density not found in off-the-shelf products and the joy of assembly There are only three types of parts but they can be expanded to any size you like by combining them Print only what you need and try to create your own unique shape
