This smartphone phone holder is inspired by iconic 1970s design armchairs, defined by soft volumes, rounded shapes, and a strong visual presence.
It is designed not only as a functional stand, but as a decorative design object for desks, nightstands, or shelves—beautiful even when the phone is not placed on it.
This model was developed with great attention to detail and required a significant amount of work. For this reason, I’m considering expanding this series with additional variants, such as:
- a version with an integrated AirPods holder in the front cushion area
- a no-pedestal version, cut flat at the bottom for a more compact look
👉 Let me know in the comments if you’d like me to continue developing this series.
Smartphone compatibility
The seat groove was designed to fit iPhones from the 15 up to the 17 Pro Max, without a case.
- If you use thick cases, I recommend:
- measuring the width and depth of the slot
- slightly scaling or widening it proportionally
This allows the phone to fit completely while keeping the overall proportions consistent.
In my case, an iPhone 15 with a case does not fully slide in, but it locks securely in place, which is exactly what’s needed for daily use.
Included files & configurations
Two print configurations are included:
- Two-plate version
- Seat and base printed separately
- The seat fits into the base via a press-fit joint
- Gluing is strongly recommended for long-term stability
- One-piece version (seat + base connected)
- Designed for multi-color printers
- No need to split parts or manage joints
Future development ideas
Possible future evolutions include:
- adding a cable pass-through hole for phone charging
I don’t currently plan to create a MagSafe version, as I feel it would negatively impact the aesthetics when the phone is not present. I prefer the object to remain visually clean even when empty.
