Description

This Y-splitter was designed for laser cutter fume extraction setups where multiple machines share a single inline duct fan.
In my case, I use two laser cutters and one inline fan, and this splitter allows both machines to be connected efficiently while keeping airflow under control.

Each inlet features a manual shut-off flap with an integrated handle, allowing you to close one side completely when the corresponding laser is not in use. This helps maintain proper suction and prevents air loss.

 Features

  • Designed for 100 mm hose diameter (4 inches)
  • Two independent built-in flaps to close either intake
  • No supports required
  • Optimized for fast and material-efficient printing
  • Simple assembly with standard hardware
  • Ideal for workshops with multiple laser cutters

 Parts you need to print:

  • 1× Main Body
  • 2× Flap
  • 2× Handle

Min. printbed width and height:

  • width: 210 mm
  • height: 210 mm

Recommended Print Settings

Main Body

  • Layer height: 0.2 mm or 0.3 mm
  • Perimeters (walls): 3
  • Infill: 0%
  • Supports: Not required

Flaps & Handles

  • Perimeters (walls): 2–3
  • Infill: 15% or more
  • Supports: Not required

Material choice is up to you, but PETG or similar heat-resistant materials are recommended for fume extraction setups.

Assembly

You will need:

  • 4× M6 machine screws
  • Minimum length: 25 mm
(Longer screws are fine; shorter ones will not provide enough thread engagement.)

The handles and flaps are self-tapping, so:

  • No threaded inserts required
  • No special tools needed
  • Just tighten the screws carefully into the printed parts
