Description

Lightweight PTFE Y-Splitter for the Bambu Lab A1 & A1 mini Printer

Unlock the full potential of your Bambu Lab A1 printer with this ingenious PTFE Y-Splitter – the perfect solution for using the external spool holder alongside the AMS Lite system. No more compromises when printing TPU or other filaments that aren’t AMS Lite-compatible!

Why This Y-Splitter is a Game-Changer

1. Minimal Disconnection Required
Unlike other solutions, this Y-Splitter requires you to disconnect only one PTFE tube during installation, not all four. This makes the process significantly easier, faster, and safer, reducing the risk of damaging your printer.

2. Print TPU Without Hassle
The AMS Lite system blocks all four inlets of the Filament Hub, making TPU printing via the external spool holder practically impossible. Removing PTFE tubes is cumbersome and risks damaging your printer. This Y-Splitter elegantly solves the problem without any disassembly.

3. Lightweight, Vibration-Free Design
Unlike heavy alternatives that rely on bulky PC4-M10 connectors, this version cleverly grips onto neighbouring PTFE tubes, reducing inertia and vibrations during printing. The result? Smoother, cleaner prints and a tidy setup.

4. Quick and Easy Installation

  • No Supports Needed
  • The Y-Splitter prints flawlessly in just 40 minutes at a 0.12mm layer height.
  • Tool-Free Setup
Simply push the existing PTFE tubes firmly into the splitter and attach the neighbouring tubes into their respective slots.
  • A clear and simple solution for an otherwise complex issue!

4. Compact and Clean
The splitter maintains a neat, organized package that integrates seamlessly with your printer setup—no unnecessary bulk – just practical, smart design.

Excellent project, lightweight and stable I recommend modifying the PTFE tube piece connecting the splitter to the AMS hub as shown in the photos By creating this counterbore, the tube diameter is reduced and a kind of funnel is created that facilitates the entry of the filament into the splitter towards the AMS hub Obviously, the modified part must be inserted into the splitter output I hope this can be helpful

had a hard time getting the tubes into the print, might've been my fault idk. Update didn't read about the superglue part, that helped and yeah took some force to get the tubes in, used a tad bit of heat on the print and it helped largen the holes!

Inserting the PTFE tubes into the Y-splitter takes some effort and careful adjustments. While it’s not the easiest task, it’s absolutely doable. Best of luck—I hope it works out for you!

Your feedback truly motivates me to keep creating! 😃 Just so you know, I recently started a YouTube channel to showcase and explain some of my models. It’s still in the early stages, but my goal is to make more videos on 3D printing, life-hacking solutions, and plenty of Bambu Lab content. If you’d like to stay updated on new models and releases, you know where to find them! 🔎 https://www.youtube.com/@newstream2000

Bambu lab prints are generally prepared with a gray or white theme to suit the printer. It wouldn't hurt to add some color :)

have you ever dried your filament??? invest in a filament dryer. PLA usually needs 4-6 hours at around 50-60 degrees f.

I still need to test it and verify that the tubes do not come loose over time

Thank you for your comment 🙏👍 If you check the description, there's an image showing strategic points where you can add a tiny drop of super glue to secure the tubes It's also a good idea for the lowest tube not to be opaque, but preferably transparent, as this allows you to see where the filament is at all times This isn't crucial, but it's a tip 🙂

Okay, thank you for your work and assistance. I have just seen the glue drop method and will implement it to prevent leakage. The tube I have been using is a blue Capricorn, completely opaque. However, since I have noticed that the clearance of the tubes that come with the printer is large, I will install a standard transparent one as you advised

works perfectly and has enabled me to add a feed direct from my drier which is a huge advantage for me. thank you.

Wow! I dig your setup 👌 It didn't occurr to me that one could also feed from a dryer as well as the external spool 🤯 Super Cool! 👏 Thanks for sharing and your generous rating 🙏 😀

My drier has 2 feed outs so I have both printers running from the same drier and I also used the drier as just an external spool holder as it works so well. Each printer has a Y splitter into a printer so the drier is permanently connected as well as each AMS. On both tube running from the drier I have out push fit connectors in so the drier can easily be removed at any point too. It works well for me.
