Ultimate Filament Clip Clamp v2
Print Profile(1)

Description
This updated clamp-style filament clip was redesigned for better strength, smoother handling, and reliable printing — even with under- or over-extrusion. It prints in about 10 minutes, uses roughly 1 meter of filament, and delivers consistent results across different printers and spool sizes.

Printing Instructions
This model is designed to print reliably using standard printer presets.
Recommended settings:
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Walls: 3
- Infill: Lightning
- Supports: Not required
- Material: PLA, PETG, ASA (PETG recommended for higher heat resistance)
- Files are pre-oriented for best strength and print success
The part prints in about 10 minutes and uses roughly 1 meter of filament, resulting in a strong, efficient, and material-saving print.
🔧 After printing (important)
The rotating tip is printed locked in place.
After the print finishes, simply twist the tip by hand to release it — once freed, it will rotate smoothly as intended.

Description
This is the Version 2 of my filament clip — redesigned after years of daily use and feedback from different printers, filaments, and spool sizes.
The overall size was slightly increased to improve ergonomics and handling, especially when used on larger spools such as Prusament and similar brands. The internal layout was reworked to create a stronger structure, reducing flex and improving long-term durability.
The threaded mechanism was redesigned to print and function reliably even with under- or over-extrusion, making it far more tolerant across different printers and calibration states. The rotating tip — a key feature from the original version — is printed locked in place and released with a simple twist after printing. This redesign makes the release process more reliable, prevents the tip from getting stuck, and significantly reduces print failures compared to the original version.
To improve print success, the model also received a slightly wider base, increasing bed adhesion and reducing the chance of the part coming loose during printing — especially on fast profiles or textured build plates.
The clamp-style design applies controlled pressure to the filament, avoiding constant bending and reducing the risk of deformation over time. It works great with PLA, PETG, ASA, and similar materials, printing in under 10 minutes with roughly 1 meter of filament.
Simple, compact, and refined — this version focuses on reliability, printability, and everyday usability.
