Double-Thread 7-Layer Gift Box +Hidden Key

This fully 3D printed project comes in multiple sizes and adds a unique twist to unwrapping presents. With 7 nested layers, each box reveals another smaller box inside, creating a fun and surprising "Matroesjka" effect.

To open the outermost box, the recipient first needs to find the hidden screwdriver cleverly concealed in the ribbon. Once found, they’ll need to remove several small screws to access the next layer. Each successive box follows the same process, making it an engaging and interactive experience.

To make it a little bit harder, the recipient now needs to sometimes turn a different direction as the box has left -and right threads!

Each row of the box has the same thread, on the bottom of the row is a letter ‘L’ or 'R' so for assembling it's a bit easier.

I made 7 different box sizes which all fit in each other (224 bolts in total) :

I made different printprofiles for each box size, here you can see all the parts for Box2:

You can also download all the STL files separately.

When printing the STL files, please note that you need to turn them 90° in your slicer for the best results! Everything needs to be printed flat, you also don't need any supports!

Here you can see the right orientation for all the parts (Box2 as example):

If the key doesn't fit in the ribbon, you can rescale it to for example 98-99% to get a perfect fit.
