Annoying Gift Box with Hidden Screwdriver

This fully 3D printed project comes in multiple sizes and adds a unique twist to unwrapping presents.

To open the box, the recipient first needs to find the hidden screwdriver (in the ribbon) and then remove several small screws.

I initially designed 3 sizes (and already 31 custom sizes):

• Small Box (Green): 108 x 108 x 36 mm (8 screws)

  → Space on the inside: 90 x 90 x 30 mm

                                           

• Medium Box (Blue): 108 x 108 x 36 mm (16 screws)

• → Space on the inside: 90 x 90 x 66 mm

   

• Large Box (Red): 138 x 108 x 66 mm (16 screws)

  → Space on the inside: 120 x 90 x 60 mm

  Boxes that end at -H1 are designed for giftcards as they are very low. 

   

I made different printprofiles for each box size, here you can see all the parts for the Small Box:

You can also download all the STL files separately.

When printing the STL files, please note that you need to turn them 90° in your slicer for the best results! Everything needs to be printed flat, you also don't need any supports!

Here you can see the right orientation for all the parts (large box as example):

If the key doesn't fit in the ribbon, you can rescale it to for example 98-99% to get a perfect fit.

Edit 13/11/2025: I added a printprofile “Key rescale when printing form the app" , easy for people using only the app to print, when the key doesn't fit in the ribbon they can easily try to print a rescaled version.
