Description

Took a first attempt at building my own robot for my son. I plan to make changes and improve the design, but I wanted to upload it and see what feedback I got from the community to make it better.

My daughter is big on “world building” to give my son direction for his imaginative play so this is the back story she has developed so far:

CTC - 086, or Construction Transport Crew Number 086, is a robot designed to load and unload construction materials at different build sites. One day, during a transportation job, he realizes that he is not just unloading construction materials, but also weapons typically used by WU's, or War Units. Having always dreamed of being a war unit himself, he decides to strap the WU upgrades to his own body and attempt to join his fellow robots in the great battles of space.

Some changes I plan to make:

  • Make the joints a little bit more robust
  • Color the figure for AMS printing
  • Add hands that will allow for attachments/accessories
  • Add some designs on the different parts to make it more robotic
  • Expand with additional robots within the universe and add accessories that will be able to be printed and connected to the robot
  • The assembly is pretty straight forward, using the picture as a reference, but I will add an assembly guide shortly

I encourage constructive criticism on ways to improve the design. Please be kind, and keep in mind this is quite literally the first 3D designed thing I have ever made. Thank you.
