Description

Modular Dice System: Customizable Shells & Plates (NO AMS Needed)

Create your own 12mm dice for tabletop gaming, MTG counters, or board game replacements (they wont be fair dice tho)! This design features a core "Dice Shell" with 6 recesses, allowing you to snap in different face plates depending on your needs.

Simple swap filament when the pause command starts (layer 10)

Please try the test plate first to be sure they come lose easily otherwise it will be very labour intensive to build.

Available Plate Versions:

  • Standard Dice: Traditional 1 through 6 pips.
  • Plus Counters: Perfect for +1/+1 counters in TCGs.
  • Minus Counters: Perfect for -1/-1 counters or damage tracking.

Printing Instructions

This print requires a little bit of tuning regarding bed adhesion if the provided profile does not work, no supports are needed!

1. The Dice Shell

  • Orientation: Print flat on the bed.
  • Supports: None.
  • Adhesion: Use a Brim. This ensures the corners don’t lift and the cube stays dimensionally accurate.

2. The Plates (Inserts)

  • Adhesion: A Brim is mandatory as these parts have a small surface area.
  • Crucial Setting - Brim Separation: Because the plates are small, removing the brim can be difficult if it is fused too tightly. In your slicer, increase the Brim Separation Gap (also called "Brim Object Gap" or "Horizontal Expansion"). You want the brim to stabilize the print, but pull away easily leaving the plate clean.

Assembly Guide

The plates are designed to be a tight push-fit into the shell. If your printer tolerances are loose, a drop of superglue will secure them permanently (recommended but not mandatory).

Making a Standard Die (The Rule of 7):
If you are assembling a standard 6-sided die, remember that opposing sides must always add up to 7.

  • 1 is opposite 6
  • 2 is opposite 5
  • 3 is opposite 4
