Description
EM Blade from Tower of Fantasy - 3D Printable Cosplay Prop with LED Integration
Bring your Tower of Fantasy cosplay to life with this highly detailed, 3D-printable EM Blade! Designed for both display and practical cosplay, this sword can be printed and painted as a static model, but with the option to install LEDs and electronics for an enhanced, glowing effect. Standing approximately 85-90 cm tall when assembled, the sword is perfect for conventions, photo shoots, or just as an impressive showpiece.
Design Features:
- Modular Parts for Easy Printing: This sword comes in multiple parts designed to fit on a 25 x 25 x 25 cm print bed, making it accessible for hobbyists with smaller printers. All parts are optimized for 3D printing on a Bambulab P1P.
- LED-Ready: The sword has internal space to install an Arduino-controlled LED strip. For the best effect, it is recommended to use a D1 Mini v3 ESP and a battery. Some adjustment (material removal) may be needed in certain areas if the LED strip does not fit perfectly.
- Stabilized Build: A 6mm aluminum rod runs through specific sections of the sword where additional stability is needed, particularly at the connection points between parts that are glued together. This ensures durability without compromising on design. Hex screws and heat inserts are used for secure assembly, while glue is used in certain areas to keep everything firmly in place.
- Battery Management: The battery is installed inside the hilt but can be easily charged or powered externally via micro USB extensions. This allows for seamless integration of power without needing to disassemble the sword.
- Programmable Lighting Effects: The Arduino LED setup allows for customizable effects triggered by button presses. For example, pressing the button once could activate a purple light, pressing it again could initiate a fading effect into red, and so on. The number of effects and colors can be fully customized to suit your preferences.
Bill of Materials (BOM):
- 6mm aluminum rod for stabilization (between connected parts)
- Battery
- Mini Schalter (Micro Tactile Push Button Switch)
- LEDs ES2812B
- D1 mini v3
- M4 Hex Screws
- M4 Heat Inserts
- Those are the parts I used but feel free to get and fit whatever suits you.
Printing and Assembly Tips:
- The parts have been designed to minimize support material, but some adjustments might be necessary depending on your printer's settings.
- The sword can be printed and painted for display purposes, but if you plan to add the LED strip, ensure that you dry-fit the components first and check for any necessary material removal if they do not fit perfectly in the designated spaces.
- The 6mm aluminum rod offers additional stability, especially at the connection points between parts, ensuring your blade remains solid without excessive wobbling.
Perfect for Cosplay:
- Whether you’re looking for a display piece or an interactive prop for your next cosplay, this EM Blade is designed to shine. You can go the extra mile by programming custom lighting effects for that authentic Tower of Fantasy vibe. The button-controlled effects allow you to change colors and lighting modes on the fly, making it a standout piece for any cosplay event.
