Design
Here is a compact case for an ESP32 Wemos D1 Mini with USB-C connection. I deliberately designed a small, closed case without holes because I use it as a Bluetooth iBeacon transmitter and as a case for my ESPresents receivers. Of course, it is also suitable for other projects – for example, as a WIFI NAT Router or for generally compact ESP32 builds.
For an iBeacon transmitter, no openings are necessary: only Bluetooth is active, which generates very little heat. I have been operating such a device in my car for several months now – so far absolutely without problems.
Additionally, there are mounts.
I designed a mount for my ESPPresents sensors that can be attached with a 4mm countersunk screw, with double-sided adhesive tape, or to an IKEA Skadis board.
Dimensions
Length: 45.3 mm
Width: 39.5 mm
Height: 9.5 mm
Assembly
The case requires no screws. The lid fits snugly and holds the ESP32 securely in position – simply, quickly, and neatly assembled.
Print
I used PLA Basic from Bambu Lab – works great for me.
PLA from other manufacturers should also work without problems.
For materials like PETG, please note: Due to the different shrinkage factor, the dimensions may change slightly (adjust/scale minimally if necessary).
