Reinforcement bars for 3D printable rack

A set of reinforcement bars for my 3D printable rack system. You can use those bars to make the 3D printable rack more robust. This can be especially useful if you are wall mounting your rack.

I've made those bars in two versions. I call them “single bar” and “triple bar”.  The specs are as follows:

• Single bar
  • Width: 15.875 mm.
  • Height: 15.875 mm.
  • Length: Versions made for racks with 150, 200 and 250 mm of depth.
  • One hole for a M5 screw on each end of the bar.
  • Can be used in any hole from the rails.

• Triple bar
  • Width: 15.875 mm.
  • Height: 47.625 mm.
  • Length: Versions made for racks with 150, 200 and 250 mm of depth.
  • Two holes for M5 screws on each end of the bar.
  • It aligns with 1U from the rack.

Required parts

• 2x M5 heat threaded inserts per “single bar”.
• 4x M5 heat threaded inserts per “triple bar”.
• Same number of screws as thread inserts. Max screw length for the mounts: M5x30mm.

Assembly instructions

• Add the M5 heat threaded inserts into the reinforcement bars.

• To install the bar, align it with both front and back rails, and insert the M5 screws until it's fully inserted. If you have a mount in the same rail holes you're adding the reinforcement bars, you have to place the mount in the desired place before adding the front rail screws.

• 200mm version: At least 4.
• 250mm version: At least 5.

0.2 or 0.24

• 150mm and 200mm versions: 20% or more.
• 250mm version: 25% or more.
