-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was @David1896yt's idea to make this music box.
I took a little bit of the melody from C418's "Minecraft Volume Alpha - 8 - Minecraft", if you're a minecraft fan, you'll be familiar with it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Before you start, please watch the video I recorded, which will help you understand the whole melody.
Please understand that the sound presented in the video will be much smaller than the actual sound.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMFYauaI_ks

So, let's get started.

I know some people think these parts are so simple that they don't need to read the assembly instructions.
But I've seen a lot of people make mistakes in the assembly and the music is not as good as expected!
Please refer to my assembly instructions (pdf file) before assembling, and then if you have any problems, I wish you had photos so I could help you out!
May you all have fun with it, and not be disappointed!

-------------------------------------------------------

To make sure you get a good printout, you can print the comb part first and then use the method in the video to test if it produces a bright sound.

in order to make the drum and base close together, the width of the base is 1cm smaller than the drum, so when you load the drum, you need to use a little bit of force to support the base as shown in the picture.

If you like this music box, maybe you'll also like the other versions I've designed, so be sure to take a look!

The thread shud be longer, extremely hard to assemble due to the displacement of the print

Thank you for your feedback! Are you experiencing an issue with the handle and screw fitting together? Is it too loose to screw all the way in? The handle thread is 11mm, while the screw thread is 10mm. Could you clarify which part you mean when you say the component needs a longer thread?

The handle thread should be extended, it doesn’t fit well if the thread is not all the way to the bottom. But I fix it by wrapping some tape on the thread to increase friction

If you have watched the vedio before downloading, but your printed out doesn't sound like the vedio, maybe the filament you used to print the comb is not suitable, try another kind of pla+, avoiding too soft filaments (e.g. bambu basic) or mattes!

Thanks for your suggestion. I've been thinking about how to spruce up this music box, and a jukebox cover sounds like a great idea.

Part of me really wants to print this but some people are saying it doesn't work or doesn't sound right.

I provide recorded videos for each music box piece so people can hear the melody it plays. You can watch these before deciding whether to download. People often find the sound isn't right, usually because the filament used isn't suitable. Avoid overly soft filaments (like Bambu Basic or Lite) or matte finishes. I recommend using stiffer filaments like Bambu PLA Spark or PETG for printing. The comb for this music box is separate. You can print multiple combs using different materials to find the one you prefer for its sound.

If you've applied lubricant to the designated areas as per the assembly instructions, it should reduce rotational resistance. Additionally, I've provided actual performance videos. If you've watched them but the printed sound doesn't match the video, the filament you used to print the comb parts might be unsuitable. Try different filaments for varying results.
