Description

I realize that some people think that these parts are so simple that they don't need to read the assembly instructions.
But I've seen many assembly mistakes, so you can't get a satisfactory result!
Please refer to my assembly instructions (pdf file) before assembling, to avoid assembly mistakes and think this is a failure!

May you all have fun with it, and not be disappointed!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Reminder to use pla+ filament for printing comb parts, matte, silk filament is not suitable for sound.”

To make sure you get a good printout, you can print the comb part first and then use the method in the video to test if it produces a bright sound.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EXfQZVVLFPo

Because some people have already encountered this problem, I would like to remind you about it
(I mentioned it in the assembly instructions, and there are arrows on the base)

The handle of the music box must be turned counterclockwise

Turn clockwise, and you will directly break Comb's finger

Thanks for the idea from @A1isthefirst.
I can't convey the beauty of the original song in monotone, but the melody still sounds right!

If you're a Harry Potter fan, you'll be able to tell which song it is!

Please increase the amount of lubricant if you feel that it takes a lot of force to turn the handle.

For those of you who find the base support hard to remove, check out this short video
https://youtu.be/O8IppJFwH_U

The correct assembly of the comb parts is shown in the photo.

In this version, in order to make the drum and base close together, the width of the base is 1cm smaller than the drum, so when you load the drum, you need to use a little bit of force to support the base as shown in the picture.

Lean the music box against an empty cardboard box, wooden box, wooden table, glass window, etc. where it can resonate and turn it slowly.

The stand files I've provided are just for standing the music box up, they don't necessarily need to be printed!
I made a video, but please understand that the sound presented in the video will be much smaller than the actual sound.
I hope you like it and have fun with it!

All the pieces print well… I had to reprint the teeth, which broke very easily. Print this at 40% or more. However, the music doesn’t resonate well, more of a ticking sound than resonance. But an excellent and innovative model

May I ask how you printed it? Is it bambu studio or bambu handy? If studio, did you move the parts after loading the project? If so, do you have a photo of the loaded part to help me determine your problem?

printed well, but I just can't hear the melody. might be my filament issue 😞

Can you first try to see if the printed comp is as loud as the one in my video? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EXfQZVVLFPo If the sound is coming out correctly, it's possible that the comb parts aren't tightly bonded to the base, and so the drum shrapnel can't make the comb sound. If you would like, is there a photo I could help with.

I did. It sounds ok. Just can't recognise the melody. Maybe I'm tone deaf 😉

Maybe the tone of the music box is not clear enough or the speed of the handle is too fast for you to recognize the melody. Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into how to make the tone more recognizable. I still hope you have fun!

Can I ask if the sound is not loud enough? Or is the melody unfamiliar? Thanks for the rating.

Love it! Great design! Followed the directions, and it works like a charm. Used a Matte PLA on everything and SUNLU PLA+ for the combs.

I'm sorry to hear that. First of all, do you recognize the melody in my video? If you can't, then maybe you're not a Harry Potter fan. I see that your comb seems to be damaged, is it possible that the handle is turned in the wrong direction? Luckily, the comb can be reprinted separately. Put the music box against the empty box, slowly turn the handle counterclockwise, you should be able to hear the melody. It would be great if you can try again, thanks for your comment!
