Description

Before you start, please watch the video I recorded, which will help you understand the whole melody.
Please understand that the sound presented in the video will be much smaller than the actual sound.

So, let's get started.

I know some people think these parts are so simple that they don't need to read the assembly instructions.
But I've seen a lot of people make mistakes in the assembly and the music is not as good as expected!
Please refer to my assembly instructions (pdf file) before assembling, and then if you have any problems, I hope to have photos so I can help you solve them!

May you all have fun with it, and not be disappointed!

-------------------------------------------------------

To make sure you get a good printout, you can print the comb part first and then use the method in the video to test if it produces a bright sound.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EXfQZVVLFPo

For those of you who find the base support hard to remove, check out this short video
https://youtu.be/O8IppJFwH_U

The correct assembly of the comb parts is shown in the photo.

In this version, in order to make the drum and base close together, the width of the base is 1cm smaller than the drum, so when you load the drum, you need to use a little bit of force to support the base as shown in the picture.

Because some people have already encountered this problem, I would like to remind you about it
(I mentioned it in the assembly instructions, and there are arrows on the base)

The handle of the music box must be turned slowly and counterclockwise.

Turn clockwise, and you will directly break Comb's finger

Lean the music box against an empty cardboard box, wooden crate, wooden table, glass window, etc. where it can resonate so that the sound will be louder, then slowly turn the handle and you will hear the melody.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for the idea from @N9Volt

I'm sure many of you are familiar with this song, so I've taken a small snippet from it to create this music box, and I hope you all have fun!

Hi, I somehow can't find the STL file for the small gear that turns the large drum There is a file included, but I can't open it with Bambu Studio See image

This occurs when using the "export stl" function, not when downloading the 3MF file, correct? If so, and purely out of curiosity, may I inquire as to why you do not simply download the 3MF file? And should you then alter the file extension to .stl, are you then able to open it with your preferred slicer? If it still proves problematic, I shall upload the file separately later; I trust this will be of assistance

I don't know if it's the material I used (Bambu PLA Matte) but the threads weren't holding much. Just used glue and it was fine. Sounds great

Look great. With this photo, can you please tell me which threads can't be fixed and therefore need to be glued? Just for data collection. Hope you have fun. Thanks for the boost.

This is SOOO COOL!! its a bit hard to turn it at the right speed, and consistently, but thats probably just me. Love this print! Maybe a Jurassic Park one next?

Look great. In fact, it is correct to rotate sometimes faster and sometimes slower, because the rhythm is controlled by the hands, as shown in my video. Glad you like it. Thanks for the boost.

my kids broke it before I got to try it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I think it's the direction of the handle rotation that causes the damage to the comb, I'll improve this in the next version. Luckily, the comb can be printed separately if you want it to be. Thanks for the rating.

Thos came out perfectly! I will have to get some screws and washers but it still plays with me holding it in place.

Turned out great! Not sure why some reviewers are having trouble, maybe they didn't read the instructions? Mine worked and assembled with no issues. Automated version would be neat.
