Description

Description

This is version 4.0 & 3.0. - based on request to use Ø10x2mm and Ø10x3mm N52 magnet.

Changes:

  • V02 - attachment to AMS Lite - now easier to clip on or removal
  • V03 - Modified to allow Ø10x3mm magnet (even 2mm thick also can use), strong C-Clip to secure PTFE tube, dryer connector also can be connected with PTFE tube to as PTFE tube extension.
  • V04 - Biggest improvement here is enhance the pulling strength between the connectors & PTFE tube. The PTFE tube are now screw into the connectors. Mark around 9-10mm from tip of PTFE and screw into the end of connector on clock-wise direction.
    • Improved overhang printing after inserted the magnets.
    • To harmonize the design with V04b
    • A new screw on closing cap for the drybox (due to design changed).
    •

  • V04b - Same improvement as V04 but instead of screwing the ptfe tubing, V04b is using PC4-M6 PTFE connectors.

    (The connectors are backward compatibility between V04b V04, 03, V02 & V01)

-----------------------------------

A PTFE magnetic connector for your AMS Lite.
For those who connecting using PTFE tube between AMS Lite and Drybox / Dryer.
To easy the filament loading to AMS Lite, often we need to connect and disconnect PTFE adaptor on the AMS Lite (only if you are using).
Most design out there are using PC4-M10 or PC4-M6 connector and it will eventually cut the PTFE tube due to frequence of the connecting/disconnecting for filament loading/unloading.
Additionally, I have test most of the printed PTFE adaptor for AMS Lite, the single piece design tendency to give way due to design wasn't robust enough.

Here is the idea, a quick magnetic PTFE connector with a robust locking to AMS Lite can be fully printed out from your printer using PETG (PLA is possible).

For each set of connection, you will need 4 pcs of N52 Magnet with diameter Ø10x3 mm thick or Ø10x2mm thick (also possible with Ø10x1mm but need put tape at back of the magnets).
To complete a line from AMS Lite to your dryer box would need 8pcs.

Please take note, profile set to Pause at layer no.26  (instead of 18 on V01/V02) for you to insert the magnets.
2 magnets each for:
1) PTFE tube connector
2) Connector side on the AMS-Lite.

3) Dryer connector
The polarity of the magnets for (1) and (2) must be opposite to each other.
Then for AMS-Lite & Dryer connector having same polarity, so the tube does not need to worry about the orientation.
----------------------------------------

There is also the quick PTFE connector for the DIY drybox/dryer and AMS lite that can be fully printed without need of additional components or without using magnets.
